You can tell the hotel was quite old but the condition wasn't too shaby given the age. It's clean as you'd expect from most Japanese hotels and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked two rooms for six nights and the room for my parents had a blocked drain when we checked in, the staff was able to offer another room straightaway before they can attend to the drain issue. Ryogoku isn't a very popular area with tourists but the hotel is right next to the train station and only two stops away from Akihabara, so we can get around Tokyo quite easily. The downside is because of its proximity to the train station, the noise from the train is quite loud, so if you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Sumo
In the heart of Sumo wrestling, this hotel is close to the subway and our hotel room was quite large for Tokyo standards.

Nice stay in Ryogoku
Location, room, and pricing were wonderful. However, tub and sink drain was slow but did not deter our stay. Will book again in the future.

The hotel staff were kind and spoke English.
Our room (a 2 bed) was clean and more spacious than we expected at first glance (though it didn't have any kind of storage which was a bit of a pain). The AC in our room was able to keep it cool in the hot and humid weather, which was a massive help.
Right next to the hotel is the Ryogoku station, a FamilyMart (where you can use the international ATM), and there's a McDonalds right across the street in case you suddenly want to eat American French Fries while in Japan (they tasted the same as at home).
Overall, it was a great week long stay!

Basically beside the Ryogoku station on the local Chuo line, and within a ten minute walk of two billion chankonabe restaurants. This is the hotel to stay in if you like sumo, or if you just like the area. Very foreigner friendly as well.

We stayed 2 nights October 2024. Hotel located right near Ryogoku station, hotel is near to Sumo stadium and has great food options nearby. Bedroom was neat and comfortable, we had 3 single beds. Bathroom was large and clean and overall a great place to stay. Only downside is no on site laundry but there’s a coin laundry nearby. Check in is 3pm and you can lock luggage up on 3F if you arrive before then. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke a little English (Google translate was helpful when checking in). Would stay here again.

We stayed this hotel for 9 nights in a row. The room we stayed was very small to be honest but all staff were very professional, kind and friendly so my husband and I had a wonderful time over all. Oh also we could see some sumo wrestlers around hotel which was cool experience!!
