Great location but not very comfortable.
The hotel was clean but a bit smaller than we expected. We would stay here again because of its location (access to the train station, restaurants and shopping). Our only complaint would be the comfort of the sleep. Specifically the pillows were very uncomfortable and the fold out bed could do with an upgraded mattress. The two standard beds were adequate and the sheets were fine. Also, I realize it's a hotel in Japan but I think it would better serve the guests if the A/C and toilet controls were in English. Every guest we came in contact with was speaking English and not a single guest we saw was Japanese.

Good location, amenities. Limited check-in hours
Booked this as a really last minute stay and was pleasantly surprised. Location was a reasonable walk from Ikebukuro JR Rail Station; about a 5 minute walk. There's a 7/11 on the first floor, and a Denny's restaurant on the second floor. Both are reasonable breakfast/food options in terms of quality and price. The laundry service was a lifesaver, although there is a minor charge for detergent and machine use. During our stay it was 100yen for the detergent, 200yen for the washer, and 100yen for every 30 minutes in the dryer. For us 30 minutes was not enough to thoroughly dry so we would suggest putting 60minute for the dryer. Coffee, tea (cold and hot) and microwave are also available 24/7. Be careful of the paper cups as the hot beverage option is VERY hot. Also, keep in mind that their check-in is not 24/7. When we visited, check-in closed at 11pm so plan around what time you will be arriving in Ikebukuro.

For the overall price, the Centurion Hotel Ikebukuro was a very great place to stay. It is close to the Yamanote train line allowing quick access to central Tokyo and access to the airport. The room is very small for 3 people, but well worth the cost and overall quality. We would stay again.
