The pictures of the hotel do not accurately represent the hotel. The pictures look they are from several years ago. We pulled into to the parking area and the area was littered with garbage and wasn't cleaned for a couple days. The description of the hotel says restaurant onsite, how we there is no longer a restaurant onsite. The mattresses were old broken and uncomfortable. The kitchenette only included a sink and counter. We pulled into to the parking area and the area was littered with garbage and wasn't cleaned for a couple days. There was no hot water for the showers at night. The hotel is in a good convenient location and has decent wifi.

The hotel door was locked when we arrived. We had to asking the villagers around with very limited Spanish. No one knew where he was about and when he would be back. There was no phone number provided either. After an hour the owner showed up. He was all smiling. The room and bedding were very clean. But the shower water was only tiny drippings.

Your basic, cheap Mexican hotel. Outside the center of town, dogs bark at night, trucks rumble by, birds chirp loudly in the morning. The greens and yellows of Mexican rooms. Slow Wi-Fi, breakfast not available because chef didn’t show up. Beats sleeping in your car along the side of the road 307 at night.

Good Motel for a road trip
Convenient stop on the road between Bacalar and Tulum. No problem to check in late at night. Parking was available for free right in front of our room.

Great value for your money. AC was working and the availability of channels was good. The internet was slow or will not work well as I was on the third floor. Staff was very friendly. The hotel is about a kilometer from downtown area so it helped that I had a car.

Nice hotel with the basics
A solid place to stop between Cancun and points further south. The next day we easily drove Xpujil, stopping in Bacalar then lunch at Cenote Azul. The hotel is simple and quite adequate for a stopover. Dinner was good, too. Wifi worked, as did the TV, which had many channels. Hot shower. Could've stayed another night, but not more than that. Neighborhood quiet and away from highway. Lack of secured parking, mentioned in another review, was not a problem; we did not leave stuff in the car, however. Felt safe and secure.

Enjoyable stay in Felipe Carrillo
The staff really took time and energy to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Very comfortable bed. Large room. Quiet surroundings. Cute restaurant. Only things; a tired shower head gave us little water to shower with, and the wifi was hard to use in our room no. 2.

Best in this town
We needed a room for 1 night in this part of the Yucatan, in-between towns. This hotel was cheap, clean, and really great employees.

Nice hotel near to excellent birding opportunities
This was my second stay at the Hotel Turquesa Maya in the last 6 months. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and the hotel facilities are generally in excellent condition. I can't comment on the breakfast as we left very early in the morning to go birding. A couple of things to consider: - Staff speaks Spanish only. - No secure parking offered. - I don't know if this means anything, but both times we have stayed at the hotel, we were the only guests.
