Wasn’t sure what to make of this place. Looked nice in pics but recent reviews weren’t so good. Turns out this is a rebranded location of a well known chain that is design-forward.
Unfortunately, maintenance has not been kept up and a lot of ad hoc compromises have been made, to the point where everywhere you look, there is something that catches your eye for the worse. Short cuts like turning off lights in certain areas and locking off certain stalls in the washing area speak of serious pennypinching.
Also, tons of notices warning not to do a lot of things. In particular, an emphasis on needing to pay by the hour to stay in the cafe area after checkout. Zero grace period.
Compared to other similar modern capsule hotels, the facilities are newer but starting to be run down in many ways. Also, there isn’t any room to unpack/rearrange bags. Still pleasant enough in the common areas that I’d go back for that. But operationally, the whole place just has a finger wagging tone that is unjustified due to the relatively low standards they have set. Obviously lacking in storage space, so supplies are stashed all over the place in plain view.
Staff was pleasant, wifi was okay at most times, and the coffee decent. The pods themselves were quite roomy, just no sound isolation at all in the dorm.
If I was in a pinch in the near future and the rate was on an off peak night, I might stay here again, but I would definitely pay a bit more for something more uplifting.
