Wonderful extremely helpful staff. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated. The museum room about the old hospital was a pleasant surprise. Had a great time here and will definitely stay here again if I have business in the area. Close to some wonderful restaurants and shopping was also a plus.

Excellent hotel, but very expensive to park!
Everything was great, except for two things: Firstly, when we booked the room in July, we were told that there was free parking. When we checked in, we were told that parking is $30 a day. Very very disappointing. The only other feature that could’ve made our stay better, is if there was a regular little restaurant with a standard menu of dining options, that was open for dinner. The food at the bar left a lot to be desired, and there was not a big selection either. For someone who needed to have vegan options, there were none to be found, and it wasn’t pleasant eating at a bar either. Nothing to do with the actual hotel, but there was no other place to eat or even get a cup of coffee in the immediate area that we could walk to either, which is why the hotel should consider having a little restaurant in the actual hotel! Driving into the city was difficult to say the least, and after a long, exhausting travel day, with just about no parking options in the city, we just wanted to sit, have a nice hot meal at the hotel and go to sleep.

Thank You for Nothing
I booked a room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. I was asked if i wanted to change the number of beds. I said no, i want what i booked. He again asked if i would accept a room with 1 king bed and a sofa bed. Again i said no. He then said they didnt have any more of the 2 queen bed and sofa bed rooms. He could give me the king bed with sofa bed. He quoted me and gave me a charges paper. It clearly showed a charge of $362 and change. I asked about handicap parking and was charged $30 for it. I was never told where the parking area was nor where handicap parking is. (Why is the handicap parking the furthest away from the entrance?) Thank you, we found it. The room was mostly clean. The bed was way to soft and the sofa bed wasnt any better. It was an impossible night to get much sleep. It would be nice if there was a list of local places to eat, drink, play; for adults as well as kids. An explanation of how to operate the elevator sure would have been helpful. I pray you get better at hospitality before my next hotel stay.

An iconic building now a first class hotel
What an amazing experience! Outstanding General Manager in Mr. Conteh, who went beyond the call of duty to make our stay pleasant. A family member with a chronic illness was quickly accommodated. In addition, she was quickly assisted after a minor accident The staff were all very pleasant and courteous. The rooms and public spaces were all outstanding Plus, as a retired physician, it was a special treat to stay in what used to be the legendary Cook County Hospital.
