Great Location!
The Galata Times Hotel was a bit of a surprise, both good and bad. The location is wonderful as it is close to the Galata Towers, the famous Istiklal Street and a plethora of hotels and shops. We’ve eaten at the lovely rooftop restaurant at this hotel before, but we’ve never stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately, the room was much smaller than I had expected. There was a terrible odor of sewage in the hallway and in the room. And there were hairs on my boyfriend‘s pillow. The mattress was a little harder than I preferred. The shower was amazing and the bathroom was spacious. One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. They were kind, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is the other best thing about this hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Kudos to Resit, Barrett, Hasan and Yusel. Thank you for taking great care of us.

Unfortunately, I will not come back to this place and there are Two reasons… noise from out of the window cars beeping and people yelling from 2-6am and second, which is main one the smell in the room coming out from the bathroom and looks like there is a big sewage problem…. It’s toxic and not pleasant to smell.

Stayed at Galata Times Hotel on Sept 28- Oct. 1. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Rahmi & Reshit for making us feel welcomed during our stay in Istanbul, Turkey. The hotel is situated in a very good location with good transport. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has an amazing view with nice small selection for breakfast. I highly recommend Galata Times Hotel. From the moment I booked my room, I received exceptional service. Hotel staff contacted me if I needed airport transfer, which they conveniently arranged. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention to Simin, Rashit, and Osman who went out of their way to make us welcome, comfortable, and always attended to our needs. Simin arranged for our Turkish bath reservation while I was in US through whatsapp. Rashit guided us in navigating the tram system and even gave us a tram card to top off.,Osman helped us with our luggages and escorted us out to our waiting van at 3am. Not to mention the rooms are clean, bed comfortable, toiletries always fully stocked, and breakfast at the rooftop cafe superb with incredible views. Istanbul is a beautiful city and everyone should visit it and stay at Galata Times. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Why are there condoms in the fridge?
It is a typical Istanbul small room hotel, if you have been to Istanbul before it is pretty much as expected. Room was clean and no problems, breakfast was standard Turkish breakfast. 2 issues I had (minor) were breakfast was from 8AM, this is too late for me as I had to be somewhere for 08:30 start for work so I could not have breakfast on 2 days. Also why were there 2 condoms in the fridge? Really tacky to see that and no necessary at all.
