We stayed in the village hotel for 2 nights and I honestly would have left after the 1st if we didn’t have plans in the local and surrounding areas.
The hotel itself looks quite impressive outside and inside, unfortunately, our experience didn’t match that. The check in is clunky with a self service touch screen. There was a member of staff who helped me but the are was dirty, the screen too so I had to wash my hands as soon as I could.
The room looked ok, however, there wasn’t much loo roll and the shower gel provided was almost empty. Luckily we brought our own toiletries. Cleanliness was a bit questionable and when our room was cleaned whilst we were out, it looked like little to no effort was made. We always leave our room in a respectful way, but the bed was made very poorly.
We also had an issue with the pool. The lady on the desk was not very polite or helpful. We asked where to go and she gave us directions upstairs. We then could not find the towels, another guest told us we should have been given them at the desk. I went back down and was shocked again at the artifice of the lady when I asked how we get towels. She just put them on the desk in front of me. Pretty rude. The stairs down to the pool were dirty, I’m glad I had flip flops. The pool was not monitored by staff and at times I felt uncomfortable as it was mainly males and my partner and I were in the jacuzzi where the maximum number was exceeded. I felt uncomfortable and left.
Breakfast was the worst!
