Hotel staff lied about canceling reservation.
The room was alright. The provided breakfast as well. I had a two day stay originally for my daughter's graduation from AmeriCorps but had to leave after the graduation so we'll be fore the checkout time, at around 10AM, I turned in my room keys and canceled my room for the 2nd day. I was told it was cancelled and that the refund request was sent back to Expedia. I asked for a printout of the confirmation and was told that was impossible because it was sent back to Expedia. That made me suspicious right there but there was nothing I could do. I came back about ten minutes later and again asked for some type of confirmation at all for my room cancellation, again I was refused one.
I called Expedia today, over 24 hours after I cancelled my room to confirm my cancellation of the second day went through. They contacted this hotel and they denied my checking out early. (Not to my surprise.) Expedia refunded the cost to me because of my status with them, but I am terribly disappointed with the hotel staff and management not being professional on this issue. I am VERY glad I waited to do this review until after I got confirmation, or otherwise, of the second day cancellation. So the hotel is getting the review they earned. It's a pity. Moral of the story, don't trust the staff on cancellations UNLESS they give you a confirmation copy and email. ***Hotel, please correct your discrepencies and be honest. Your duplicity made an otherwise good stay into a terrible disappointment.
