Good, but can get cold in the winter
Stayed a night in a four person tipi. The receptionist was great, and guided us well through the property. Reduced a star because we were told that there would be a space heater in the tipi, but had to call and go get it from the reception when we didn’t find it inside. The water was very cold in the bathroom.

Tired traveler
Old but relatively clean. Was an old mobile home that was made into 2 separate rooms for 2 sets of guests. No shower curtain for the tub. Worked for us because we were dog tired and couldn’t drive any more that night. If I hadn’t booked online we would have tried to go farther.

A nice gem of a stay, but some management issues. Alice was amazing & provided a warm welcome & was receptive to any concerns. They have a known ant issue, when I brought it up that they were getting into my items and food on the kitchen counter, and in the bathroom, Alice radioed the request. Confirmed they have a known issue but do not use any spray or service to treat it. Was told by management to keep my food in the fridge, which was impossible as I had lots of backpacking provisions. I left my food in the car, and hoped ants hadn’t infiltrated any of my other items. Could be a breaking point of a several week hiking trip. Was told I could sprinkle ground cinnamon… being 8pm at night, the guest of the space, and no grocery store nearby, was a ridiculous suggestion. Property should already be managed well and in good condition for a night’s stay. Responsibility should not fall on the guest. Eventually they sent cleaning crew to do spot mopping and some basic treatment. If they figure out the ant issue would be 5 stars. Traveler beware. The space itself is very quiet, beautiful views, and central location to hiking.

It's kind of Glamping. You are sleeping in a teepee. Lots of room, bed was comfortable. Orientation was a bit rushed. They guy cooking was also checking in people. As a result I ended up in the wrong teepee. This only became apparent when someone else tried to occupy the teepee I was in. All was settled by the other guests occupying the teepee I was supposed to be in

Stay somewhere else
The place is horrible. The room was literally half of a modular home. Windows in the door that anyone could look into the room... had to hang towels for privacy. Kitchen sink in the bathroom!!! Poorly furnished. The place was the only place that had a room available when I was in a pinch or else I would have walked out.

This place is great for 1 night. We always stay here on the way to mammoth. The bathrooms were very run down this time, the toilets wouldn’t flush and the sink wouldn’t stop dripping. May have just been this one time. The Tipi itself is clean and cozy.

While the town is extremely small with not alot except a gas station, the room was stunning, very well equipped and there's a magnificent view of the Sierra Nevadas. Ideally placed for Death Valley, Sequoia National forest or, for those brave enough U2's Joshua Tree album cover photo (the tree died sadly but there is a plaque about 1/4 mile into the desert off CA 190). Staff were amazing, milkshakes to die for.
