When I booked this hotel in January 2018, there were two prices - one for a regular room, and one for a room with a view of the sea and beach. I opted for the more expensive one (about $35 per night more expensive) and was to pay about $165 per night rather than about $130 per night for a regular room. Upon arrival, we found the hotel had a broke elevator and had to lug two 50 pound bags and two 20 pound carry-ons up and down 42 steps and we were given a room diagonally opposite the beach view rooms. Right below our window, the city was working on the streets. Both mornings we woke up to heavy equipment operating just outside our window. We had to drag baggage about 2 blocks through dug up streets and dust, dirt, and sand from the construction. Each time we left the hotel, we had to walk through the dust, dirt, and sand to get to and from the hotel. Hotel clerks spoke very limited English at check-in on Sunday, and on Monday and Tuesday, the clerks at check-in spoke no English at all. Upon return home, I contacted Hotels.com and told them of the problems at the hotel and they called the hotel, but it refused to refund the extra we had paid for a beach view room. I recommend that NO ONE STAY at this hotel as they will take your money but not provide the type room you signed up for. Hotels.com did compensate us for the discomfort but I still feel that the hotel should have refunded the extra charges we paid. DO NOT STAY AT THE AM LEUCHTTURM hotel in Warnemunde Germany.
