Accommodation and food excellent
We enjoyed our recent stay here. The room was excellent with a spotless new bathroom and comfortable bed. Better pillows would have been nice but not a problem for a short stay. The food was very good but the service rather slow. We weren't in any hurry but 30-40 minutes to produce breakfast after ordering seemed a bit excessive. Staff were all very friendly and helpful so positive overall.

The room we were given at first hadn’t been cleaned properly there were stains on the coffee table and on the tray, the dust on the tv was thick! the window was open and looked out on a scruffy canopy above the kitchen so we had all the smells from that in the room, so I went to ask if there was another superior room we could have,as this stay was part of my wife’s birthday trip, fortunately they had one next door which was much better, not sure why you would stick someone in a smelly kitchen room when you have a better room available? Note to staff always give the best room you can if it’s available (no brainer!) as for the staff apart from being young and inexperienced they were helpful. The food was excellent we had dinner there and the breakfast was really good too. The quality of the bathrooms and beds and bedding were really good and the rooms decor could do with some touching up which would elevate this property, also I’d get a new cleaning team in! Even in the public areas of the pub and reception there was dead insects and flaking paint on the window culls which a hoover would have not gone a miss.

Lovely
Stayed in River Till room, really spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a separate claw foot bath which was wonderful after long days of walking. Only small complaint was that there was no shelving etc in the bathroom to store toiletries. We booked evening meals each night and they were delicious and generous portions. Breakfasts were nice, but seemed a bit hit and miss with regard to offer of fruit juice, tops ups of tea/coffee and the cooking of poached egg, so tried fried egg the next day which was fine but day after the fried egg wasn’t cooked fully. Having said this, staff were lovely and friendly and we would stay again.

Generally excellent
The pub hotel has been modernised. Room was very smart. Bathroom spacious and modern. Food was excellent. Only area of improvement would be to start breakfast earlier - 8.30 is too late!

Amazing stay! Comfortable bed, delicious food, friendly staff. Cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay here. Only one night but wish we could have stayed for more. They changed our room to one with a bathtub easily, the room was spacious the staff was kind and the room warmed up nicely to enjoy a rainy evening in. They had everything we needed for a wonderful night. Would stay here again in a heart beat

What a find on our driving trip around Northumbria! Beautiful rooms in a small pub. The food in the pub was fantastic (so much so we ate there both nights of our stay) and the staff were just brilliant. The included breakfast was incredible! It was a great location for exploring the surrounding area like Alnwick and Bamburgh castles. Highly recommend it and we would definitely stay there again if travelling to that part of the UK.

Percy Arms sits within a farming landscape clustered within a village of beautiful stone buildings. It's presence is solid and homely. The room was large and welcoming with beautiful linens and finish. The bath was vast and luxurious. Here was the only true King Sized bed I was treated to in the UK. Thanks for the comfort you've placed here for travelers like me! The care and attention you put into your property is unmistakable and appreciated!

Parking on site was a problem and street parking was a problem too with residents having no parking signs outside their houses. We found the room very good however the bed was uncomfortable for us.

Percy Arms, Chatton
Our stay began with delicious complimentary brownies at check in and it just got better and better. Fabulous large room (and bathroom), lovely decor throughout and well kept attractive outside areas. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was superb, along with all the meals we had. Best steak and ale pie ever! Fresh vegetables, beautifully cooked. So comfortable - great night’s sleep. Could not fault the Percy Arms and will go back. Lovely area within reach of both coast and country, and so much to see and do including Bamburgh and Alnwick.

Hotel/bar/restaurant exceeds expectations.
My wife and I stayed here as a base for a few days in Northumberland. The hotel and bar are very comfortable and we found the staff to be nothing but kind, friendly and accommodating. The lady who waited on us for breakfast was very attentive and joked that in Northumberland they have a tendency to overfeed you….which she went on to do. We had dinner two nights and all the meals were very nice indeed and we shared our meals so we could get a taste of everything. Our room and en suite were very comfortable and generous size. Other guests seemed quite content and were quite happy to chat to each other. The whole place was neat, tidy and clean. I felt that I could have left my room door open and my stuff would have been safe. We’ll go back there.
