Safe & Adequate
It was fine. If you want to turn in for a night's sleep in Martinez, this could be the place. It felt safe enough to house a 9 yr old kid & parents. Has a Jack in the Box right in the front. So you'll be fine for dinner.

Quaint. Single story. Only about 15 rooms. Nicely redecorated inside. Easy location to get to on and off the highway. All good things. The only negative was the reception. He wasn’t rude just not friendly. Other than that great place to stay.

6/10 Good

What I liked: the room was clean, there were plenty of electrical outlets, plenty of lighting choices for the room, and for the most part we had a parking space close to our room. What I didn’t like: the decor of the room didn’t fit with the theme of the motel, the water faucet was intensely loud when turned on, and on the final night of our four-night stay, other guests stood outside our room talking loudly and partying until almost midnight. We felt encroached upon and intimidated due to this behavior which we feel should have been dealt with immediately by motel management.

Would stay again
We were really impressed with the inside of the room we had, dont let the outside scare you off. Someone did smoke weed outside our door later at night but other than that it was a good stay.

2/10 Poor

Unprofessional Hot Mess
Arrived at 3pm and noticed neighborhood was questionable but still had hope the room might be ok as we had an event that started at 5pm that we still had to drive to. Upon entering the small front office we noticed it was stuffy (no AC) and smelled like a restaurant. The front office person took our ID and after checking on the room, returned to tell us it would not be ready until 330pm. He said that the maid was busy cleaning another room and she would get to ours next. There were no other clients there. Then they offered to let us into the room in the meantime as we needed to start getting ready. As we walked up to our assigned room I glanced inside at what appeared to be the remains of a night of partying with beer bottles on every surface and the stench of alcohol mixed with some type of previous attempts to mask unpleasant odors with cleaner. There was no possible way either of us could have tolerated the smell. We told him we would not be staying whereupon he informed us there would be no refund as we prepaid. At minimum he ought to have been able to discount our stay based on the “LATE check-in”. And honestly should have never offered us to even go near that room. There were no other rooms available. Disappointing.

Nostalgic Trip To Martinez
Stayed at property over 40 years ago. This was a nostalgia stay. Motel room very tastefully updated. Bed was excellent, 2 hairs and a table with plenty of room. Would suggest cleaning staff decrease the amount of Fabulosa used to clean the rooms. Had to air out the room upon arrival. Recommendations for dinner and breakfast were the best meals of our trip.
