The outside of hotel does not appear so inviting, but stepping it’s a different story. It’s bare bones but nice and very clean. The bed was one of most comfortable I have been in. Do not particularly like like sharing bathroom and shower, but must admit they were kept very clean and seemed fairly recently renovated. It was quiet….no front desk personel but staff via phone were very friendly, prompt, and helpful. All in all good stay.

I was a little disappointed when I first saw the place. But what a SURPRISE! Our room was #225, on the second floor with no elevator. It seemed to have unusual accommodations, with some separate baths. But OUR ROOM WAS TERRIFIC!!! Everything was brand new and immaculate! The king bed was firm. The bedding was new and gorgeous, with modern layered sheets and comforter so it’s washed every time. No drab dirty multi used spread. I like a walk in shower without A tub. Check. The shower head was brand new as were all fixtures and fittings. Excellent height toilet. Brand new fridge and microwave. It was so nice we considered staying an extra day. We only stopped to break up our long trek about halfway between Ca and Vegas. If that’s what you need this is the place to do it. It’s Mojave so that’s not anything special. But the staff and room is definitely worth it. We also chose late checkout for an extra $20, also worth it for the extra rest. Well done keeping a 1956 property open. Thanks to Stephanie and housekeeping. You’re a courteous crew with a CLEAN PLACE!

Clean, comfortable, and convenient in Mojave
If you’ve ever been to Mojave California, you’ll know it is a rather surreal place. In the middle of the desert, the town resembles a truck stop: gigantic trains rumbling through, field of disused aircraft, huge wind farm, windy, windy, windy. It’s also a convenient place to stop on the way up the Sierra. Sierra Motor Lodge has been an excellent stopover. Clean, comfortable, convenient.

I love how this place is decorated. Its clean and comfortable. The snack machines and coffee in the lobby is great. However(not the fault of the motels) somebody was having a very loud house party. Ive stayed here before and that dodnt happen tho

This stay was a little different
This place is organized differently. There is no front desk. You check in and check out by text message. It's important to note that while each room has its own sink, there is a common toilet and shower located in a room down the hall. At first I was skeptical of this, but I was able to use the common toilet/shower a number of times without having to contend with another guest. The rooms are quite small --think college dormitory. There would not be enough room for more than two people. Yet all the fixtures, sinks, air conditioners, TV's, appeared nearly new, and everything worked. In short, if you are content with the common toilet/shower arrangement and are traveling alone, this motel is a good value. I was surprised when my credit card was charged with one day's rent some 11 days before my arrival. Then my card received another charge some 4 days before my arrival. The explanation was that this was according to their payment policy. It didn't make any difference to me, but ordinarily, your card is charged when you check in, not in advance.
