Good Value and Good Service in Addis Ababa
My colleague and I stayed at the Abat Guest House on a two-week business trip to Addis Ababa. The staff at the guest house from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the free breakfast cooks and service people couldn't have been more pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The accommodations were simple but clean and adequate. The location is very close to the airport which makes it convenient and a great starting point for travel and activities in the city. There is a coffee shop and a restaurant on the ground floor which both offer tasty and reasonably priced western style cuisine. I was surprised to find that our rooms both had mini refrigerators, a fact that wasn't mentioned in the hotels.com writeup, but which came in handy. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Addis Ababa, I think the Abat Guest House is a great choice.
