Poor service. No valet to help with luggage from taxi. Long queues to check on even though we had checked in on line. Furnishings looking shabby now. La Belle Epoque dining was a very over priced, soulless experience. We use the Sofitel for the convenience of access to T5 but overall we were very disappointed

Terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service throughout. Check in gave us the wrong instructions, we waited 15 mins to be served for dinner - went and asked if we could get a menu, they insisted they would bring one to us, 15 more mins later and still no menu so we got food from m&s in the terminal - check out staff then gave different payment instructions to check in so am awaiting to confirm they have not double charged us. Everything is very dated, bathroom mirror was smashed, fire alarms randomly going off. It’s obvious they have a captive market and can let standards slip as a result.

depressing hotel
Had returned from Christmas in the Cotswold and thought it best to stay at the airport and take the train into the city on our last day. The hotel rooms are a bit dark and sad, but clean. The room was not equipped with any info on the hotel, not pen.minor things. Called the desk to ask for a iPhone charger to use. no help. Overall, after coming from the Tophams hotel in Belgravia, followed by a stay in Cotswold, Sofitel was a letdown. I have to say, I stayed at the Sofitel in Chicago and it was divine.

Convenient Airport Location
This hotel saved us after we had a flight cancelation and rebook. Very nice hotel with top notch customer service. I wish this hotel was located in the city center and I would stay there every time. Our only complaint was room service. We ordered food and they told us it would be an hour and it ended up taking over 2hrs to be delivered for a cold sandwich and chips. Only other dining options are sit down restaurants so pick up food before you check in.
