Beautiful design - highly recommend!
We loved the style of the room/design of the hotel and it was a pretty good location. The bathroom was quite small compared to some other places we stayed throughout Japan, but it had everything we needed (so no real complaint). The 2 twin beds is perfect for a friend trip for everyone to have their own space while sleeping. The one thing we noticed here and throughout Japan is that the beds/pillows can be quite hard, but great duvet covers and easy lighting/outlet situation throughout the room.

Excellent stay
Wonderful experience…beautiful design in modernized ryokan style seems best description—mattress beds on raised tatami platform. Nice onsen in basement. Staff very helpful eg with taxis. It’s a little away from subway—but coffee shops and izakaya a few minutes away.

From check in to checkout, we felt catered to! Our room (king with garden terrace) was spacious, silent, and gorgeous! Great if you want a traditional ryokan experience with modern, thoughtful touches. Hotel staff arranged taxis and restaurant reservations for us that were also spectacular. Food and amenities on property were also top tier HIGHLY recommend

This hotel was really modern and clean. Walking distance to Kyoto station and dining area. Also there is bar and restaurant on grand floor too. Me and my mom had Japanese style breakfast as cooking with Kyoto vegetables. It was delicious!!!
Highly recommend!

Good hotel, great breakfast. Staff were a little confused by my request for allergy friendly bedding and that was stressful. The bathroom fan would also not turn off so that was annoying.

Nice but issues
The hotel is clean and feels new, staff are nice. Noise between rooms is a big problem, one night I couldn’t sleep due to doors being opened and closed til 4am. Rooms are very small, really only suitable for one person with one case. Nice area but quiet with not a huge amount around but about 15 mins walk to Kyoto station. Photo is the “view”!!

Pros: Nicely designed hotel. Modern and new. Close to train station. Really nice showers in room with good water pressure. Nice shampoos, body washes, etc. Great onsen on site, closes late at 1am.
Cons: Seems many windows in room were frosted and could not see outside. Pillows were foam and not that comfortable. Not many dining options nearby. Usually need to walk/bus to get anywhere.

The hot bath was really relaxing with lots of ammenties like lotion etc available. Hotel Japanese style breakfast was worth a try and also take the bus 50 outside the hotel to skip walking 11mins everyday to Kyoto station !

Maybe my new favourite hotel. An absolute delight.
We loved this hotel. We had the superior queen room, which was a pretty decent size. The hotel staff were some of the best, most friendly and professional we have encountered, anywhere. The breakfast was something we really looked forward to every morning. The location is convenient for walking to the train station. The hotel looks absolutely beautiful. The public bath was a great intro to public bathing in Japan (whether it be baths or onsen). The self-serve laundry facilities were very handy and not unreasonably priced. The bar is very pleasant place to kick back in the evening with a plum wine or craft beer, the bar snacks are very tasty too. If we are ever back in Kyoto, which I hope we will be, we would happily stay here again.
