Transportation around the city is easy whether you rent a car, take a taxi, or ride the bus routes. Most archaeological sites are a few hours away, so be prepared to plan day trips. 

The weather ranges between 77 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit, on average, and can be very humid. Bring comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Hats are also recommended to shade from the sun. During the rainy season from May to October, it's not uncommon to experience chillier temperatures. Tipping of at least 15% for services is a cultural expectation, so be prepared.
