Great little find in Hythe
Booked a 3 night stay here, as looking for somewhere close to our visit to Port Lympne Safari Park. Friendly, welcoming staff on arrival, couldn't have been more helpful. Had a drink in the garden on arrival, nice little sun trap. Room was very spacious and clean, even had a fridge and microwave which we wasn't expecting. Fridge was a blessing in the hot weather to keep cold drinks in. Bathroom also spacoius and very clean and the shower was really good too. Welcome tray good little selection and you only had to ask for more, if you ran out. Only little critisism was we had a meal and the chicken was over cooked but in fairness, the menu had been limited due to an issue out of their control, due to the gas being shut off. Certainly didn't detract from a lovely stay here. The staff really do make you very welcome. Would highly recommend.

Handy but noisy location.
Room was good size and comfortable. Shower was a bit tricky to get right heat. Cooked breakfast nice. Rather noisy location by busy road. Handy for high street , steam railway and safari park.

Avoid - Disgraceful Parking Fine
Stayed here several times in the past with work with 0 parking hassle, but never again. Landlord saw me park in the pub car park and took me through to check in. Not once was I asked for the car registration. Knowing he saw me park up you’d think they would highlight the parking rules for hotel guests …… No and got hit with a £60 parking fine, reduced to £20 on appeal! But the principle remains that a booking in error on hotels part led to an unnecessary fine! Shame on hotel and private run parking enforcement company.

A comfortable night
The room was comfortable but functional in line with our expectations. We did find difficulty in sleeping because the pub is on a busy road but more bizarrely there are people chatting in the beer garden until the early hours of the morning. Hopefully that wouldn’t always be the case. Breakfast was lovely!

Breakfast looked lovely but didn't taste as good as it looked. Possibly our fault as we went to breakfast 30 minutes before it finished.

2/10 Poor

Never go back again
No parking for me The rooms were terribly small especially for twin room UHT milk out of date Shower was hot not for long then just tepid Only one lock on the door and it was the latch so didn’t feel safe at every bump as we entered the building from the back the back fire door was left open so anyone could walk in and up to the rooms Main thing for me was at least the bed could have been comfortable as that’s why you mainly book a room for, the bed was not a proper bed it was more like a camp bed put you up bed. The mattress was so think you could feel the metal square pole under your back so I had keep rolling onto my side away from the centre but there was no room as the bed was small The only thing it had which I could not fault was a very hygienic bathroom. Well done for that as I know not many bathrooms can be clean. Wouldn’t go again not for that money without breakfast as well. £100 per room.

2/10 Poor

Great for evening meal but be wary of staying
A really good evening meal spoiled at the pub by a terrible nights sleep. Last orders were at 9.40 as the pub closed at 10pm. We were ushered out of the bar at 10pm prompt and made our way to the room. Clearly the 10pm deadline was not observed by others and from 11pm until 1.30am loud discussions, arguments and even a few duets thrown in kept us awake. There was no information about who we could contact about the noise phone number etc. I stamped on the floor quite loudly having had enough and the noise then stopped . I understand that the manager lives on the premises so surely he/she should be sensitive about the paying guests that are staying re the noise. Breakfast next morning was poor with most of the cooked breakfast cold, sausages not cooked properly etc. All in all a terrible experience and if the pub wants to have paying guests to stay it needs to ensure their comfort and ensure if they stay open beyond 10pm as advertised that they control the noise . Recommended for the evening menu but not the stay !

Room looked newly decorated, was bright clean and comfortable, traffic on the road can be noisy but we knew this when booking. Good value breakfast, restaurant staff very helpful. Convenient for town centre shops/eating options, close to lots of green space for walking along by the canal, walking distance of steam railway.

GOOD BUT BASIC.
Good location, rooms basic, lunchtime food good, breakfast basic but good price. Pub closes at 10pm on friday and Saturday and closes at 7pm on Sunday, can understand to cut costs but during August its a bit of a shame as we had returned from a function for a nightcap before bed and bar was closed at 9.45pm.

Outstanding B&B, huge room.
This B&B is absolutely great. The room we had (room 4) was huge compared to other hotels we had stayed at as part of our previous 2 weeks holiday. Great little pub with a good selection of ales and food options. Breakfast was great quality as well.

Great staff. Old building so could hear people walking around as floors creaked and doors banged at unsociable hours. Probably due to people arriving and departing for Eurostar.
