A must stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coffee Atelier. The staff could not have been more helpful and the room was lovely and unique. The breakfast was also of high quality and it’s also worth having lunch at the cafe. Highly recommend!

It was such an extraordinary experience to stay in a house which has a history of about 100 years. The house was very well maintained and very clean and tidy. The helpful and friendly staff did add a lot of values and peace of mind to us. But please be mindful that stairs inside the house may not be suitable for elderly or small kids.

Absolutely love this boutique hotel. it is very unique and certainly appropriate for the old school feel. It brings back a lot of childhood memory. The air-con, decent wifi, hot shower, astro tv are all good essential modern features. The safe provided in the cupboard is tremendously useful. The western style breakfast provided each morning is tasty and filling before one ventures out for local Penang street food ! The freshly made orange juice and fruit salad are great. Most of all, I absolutely love the coffee here!!!! Above all, the warm and welcoming hospitality provided by the staff, particularly Judy and Ruby (they are sisters!) really made our trip very enjoyable! One thing to note that is that we stayed in the upstair bedroom with narrow steps, this will not be suitable for disabled individual. I am sure they will let you know before you travel. I will definitely stay here again should I return to Penang in the near future.

Very welcoming. Layout was unusual due to the shop house design, but worked well.

Great place
You have to stay here in this quirky little boutique hotel and whilst the bathroom may not be conventional the rest certainly makes up for it. The staff are very attentive and extremely helpful and the breakfast a great start to the day.

We LOVED this hotel. Great location in the middle of everything. The whole room was lovely with character and nice little touches, such as high quality tea bags included, and a plethora of comfortable bed pillows. The outdoor shower and kitchen/sitting area was perfect for relaxing while still getting fresh air. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We would happily stay here again.

All thumbs up for Cafe Atelier
This heritage hotel is absolutely outstanding, everything was perfect from the first minute to the last. We were greeted by the very competent and friendly management team with refreshments and lots of local insight. The room or rather more like an apartment on the first floor was everything I expected, this 1927 house is still in very original condition, yet does have all the modern amenities like AC, WIFI, TV, modern bathroom etc.It is located right in the center of the UNESCO World Heritage Area of Penang, so everything you want to see is in walking distance. Breakfast was very good, with probably the best coffee I had in Malaysia. Our flight left Penang in the evening, so we still had a full day of sightseeing in Penang, after which the Cafe Atelier management team afforded us the possibility to take a shower before we headed to the airport. We will be back next chance we get!

Quaint and unique stay in Georgetown!
We stayed here for 2 nights this past July and completely adored it. A well preserved old gem in the heart of Georgetown with just 7 or 8 rooms with some unique artifacts and beautiful Chinese furniture pieces. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. A special thank you to Rubilyn and her co-workers who do an excellent job in the upkeep of this place. Would love to come back and stay again!

Best accommodation in Georgetown
We had a great time at this place, so much that we returned to the same place after going away for a couple of days at Cameron Highlands Not only the staff was great, the breakfast was fantastic, besides the delicious coffee, organic bread, great quality muesli, the staff accommodated in special requests like bringing breakfast to our room as we had a very early start the next day Fully recommend it!

A gem in georgetown
This hotel is fantastic on so many fronts....helpful happy staff, lovely room and amenities, realy good food and generous breakfasts and all smack bang in the middle of historical, world heritage awarded Georgetown. The hotel as the name implies is studio style including lovely antique furniture. But mostly it's convivial manageress Robbie's smile and patience which made our stay such a pleasant one. She had plenty of time to guide us around the map and offer suggestions of things to do and see

Lovely charm of another century.
Coffee Atelier was a wonderful, charming, "authentic" experience, in a century-old house, with creaking-wood charm, and yet air-conditioned comfort. True to the name, the coffee was great, and so was the breakfast, and, if you're looking to discover old town George Town, Penang (the Unesco heritage site), like I was, Coffee Atelier is right in the middle of it.

Quaint and full of character - can't fault it.
My brother and I just spent a night at this wonderful and quaint hotel in the middle of a bustling Georgetown. It had beautiful character, spaciously clean rooms and bathrooms, with a lovely breakfast included. Everything is in walking distance and I can't find fault with anything. If you aren't comfortable mastering stairs, ask for a room on ground level (staircases are narrow).

Charming gem in the heart of Georgetown
It was so fun to stay in a converted shop-house right in the heart of Georgetown that was well-designed, furnished beautifully and filled with art. The rooms on their own are lovely and spacious, but having an art gallery and a coffee shop in house was really great. I loved how they showcased the history of the building and the old coffee roasting facility. Very cool. My room and bathroom were clean and very comfortable. There was a great little covered sitting area right in front of the room which was a nice place to sit and watch the rain. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Very thorough and helpful, really sweet people. I would recommend staying here without any hesitation!
