8/10 Very Good

Amazing place but bad pot holes & ruts access road
Wonderful hostel set in a great oit of the way location. Only major issue is the poor condition of the access road to the propery which is not mentioned anywhere. Take it slow and steady and you'll still ground out the car in a normal car on the pot holes and ruts. I would not even attempt it in a car with lower ground clearance like a MX5 ect as you could cause major damage to your vehicle. This is a real shame as it wouldn't take alot of effort to atleast repair the worst of the pot holes and ruts.

Accessible by canoe rental from Ross-on-Wye. Stayed overnight and had a lovely vegetarian full English breakfast. Beautiful stone building was originally the rectory for the church below. Nice indoor community rooms with lots of people playing board games, good outdoor spaces with lots of picnic tables, nature at the door, beside the Wye river.

The river near by with its stretch of walks either side. Has a real air of excitement about the place. Hostel building is special too. Has a great character and feel to it.

lovely setting and helpful staff
A no frills stay as you would expect from a hostel stay but the staff were very friendly, the location is picturesque right by the river, although be prepared for a bumpy ride getting down to the hostel due to a single track road on the approach down the hill . Very good value for money

Escape to stunning views
A lovely friendly hostal with everything that you need. Prepare for a little adventure to find this. There is a steep entry road best not attempted in the dark unless you are brave. A fair way from the main road. Your reward is breathtaking views and peace and quiet. Staff very helpful and beds were already made up for us. No plug socket in our room but we managed to find a charging point for our phones on the landing.
