The biggest disappointment was the distance from Zermatt, our destination. It took us 3 hours one way- 2 buses and 2 trains to change to reach our destination.
This results in loss of precious time for travellers, who have a tight schedule.
Point de Zinal SHOULD NOT be displayed as a property in Zermatt. It is misleading- EXPEDIA to note please

Zinal/ Zermatt trip
Zinal is a good option or alternative from Zermatt that is less crowded. Place is more serene. However, it is not accessible by train. You will need a bus or car to go there. Great camping site!

Lovely Property in the middle of Zinal
Great property in the center of town. Walkable to everything. Very clean and comfortable. We had a balcony with our room with chairs. There is also a terrace area outside with lots of chairs and tables to sit. Breakfast was excellent--loads of choices and automatic espresso machine.

Just ordinary. Stuff was not very friendly, breakfastbuffet was very meagre and in the room was a terrible smell of old cigarettesmoke.

This is a small hotel very close to the cable car, perfectly located for sking in the area of Zinal. It has good breakfast and the best restaurant in Zinal. As part of a big group we tried several dishes and all were very good, including the more compkex one like duck or beef. The rooms are small, but have all the necessary ammenities and the hotel has been refurbished recently. It is very clean and the staff is friendly. Very good hot water pressure on the shower and adjustable heating system creating a good athmosfere for the winter nights. There are some free parking spaces and the hotel will help you to find a place. The ski room was also new and very well done. The internet is free and highspeed. There are also summer activities in the area and this hotel is in the middle of everything.

Very nice and helpful hosts. Convenient location. Great breakfast. Nice rooms. They need a guest lounge/sitting area. An elevator would be nice.

horrible, horrible place, avoid!!!
First of all few days before the stay we have received email that we've been "upgraded" to Hotel Europa. So on arrival we went straight to that hotel. To our shock the receptionist was one of the worst we had the displeasure to meet. Despite the hotel being nearly empty we were given a room with a view on a wall!. But since we were staying in that room only one night and having met their 'charming' receptionist we decided not to say anything.
In the morning after breakfast we packed and showed up on reception to settle our bill and to our surprise the reception was closed (7:45am)! There was someone sitting behind the shutter but she was not really bothered that we were there. Other couple showed up and they wanted to check out so we have asked one of the girls from the restaurant if she could kindly ask the lazy person to service us. We could hear her talking in very rude manner to that poor girl but she finally lifted the shutter and without any hi or hello or bon jour we gave her the key, paid our fee and we left that horrible place.

Wonderful stay on the Haute Route
Fabulous stay on the Haute Route! Everything was so comfortable and clean , the staff just lovely. At dinner i asked if there was any way to just get some salad/vegetables. I usually never ask for anything special. The staff and chef literally went above and beyond and brought me THE MOST EPIC vegetable plate. I will never forget it. I felt so taken care of.

Super service. Accueil souriant. Bonne cuisine… sauf la fondue (trop liquide et granuleuse).
