I travel a lot and have experienced a number of places that just "miss the mark". This is one of them. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need - fridge, coffee, kettle, a nice shower, hot water and fresh linen etc. The staff are friendly and the property is modern with a swimming pool and ample parking.
But it misses the mark in a number of ways. First the room is odd in that the toilet is part of the room, and although tucked away behind a separating wall, it has no door. Fine if in your room alone but I'd find that awkward if I was sharing. Secondly the mattress was a foam mattress - a good one mind you - but not great for your back if you sleep on your stomach.
The design of the guest house has many of the rooms opening to the breakfast area - so forget about sleeping past about 06h30 when the breakfast area is being prepared. Rooms closer to reception suffer from the noise of arriving guests and the rumble of the electric gate. So this is not a place for light sleepers but great for those who are up at the crack of dawn and sleep deeply.
The guest house is located a short distance from the city centre and I was happy with the location having a hire car. It's not within walking distance of restaurants although a bit down the road is a petrol station shop and a small supermarket.
I would not stay here again and it's a pity because I can see the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make it a nice guesthouse. It's just not a design for me.
