The heart of Citta Alta— incredible!
This BnB was incredible. The building is very old and the interior was very beautifully updated. Good water pressure, extremely comfortable bed. Lots of space and incredible views of the heart of Citta Alta. Most notably, the host was responsive, accommodating, gave excellent suggestions and made sure I had everything I needed with great detail. I would stay here again simply because of the hospitality. Around the corner— a small shop called “Pretessian” located at Via Marco Lupa, 12 has luggage storage for around €7!

2/10 Poor

The location is a very good one. The owner charged my card 2-3 days before the arrival. The booking was reserved by me for my mother but the owner charged my credit card with couple of days before, I don't understand why. This is for the first time when a B&B/hotel is charging me before the stay. When I have asked the owner to return my money because my mother will pay cash, he said yes but nothing happen. After he requested the money from my mother to send to me but my mother had to go with him at tha bank...horrible

its ok
Basically stay was good, perfect location, good breakfast. The problem was, that I only booked this hotel due to the information "Free parking". When I arrived there I was told that this is not offered anymore, they already informed Hotels.com, but its their fault, he wasnt willing to give me a discount or anything else. I had to pay 2 Euros per hour, in total 14 Euros....its not a big deal, but you dont get what you paid for, or what was mentioned on the page

B&B centre of old town Bergamo..☆location.
Host is wonderful. Breakfast offerings varied&good. Shared bathroom no problem for us but guests need to consider this. Streets below were noisy on the weekend we stayed, sleep was interrupted with windows open, but room too warm if closed. Overall a very positive experience of Bergamo.

The location is unbeatable, if only a little bit hard to find (you have to locate #7, go under the arch, up the stairs and find #5 in the back). If you can leave your car outside the city walls, it's even better. If you must take your car in, locating the parking lot on the small plaza behind the address and getting there is difficult, you need to have the host explain it to you and show you on the map. I would return to this BNB if I ever get back to Bergamo.

Excellent location
The stay was great the only thing we found was if you wanted to shower between 8 and 11 the bathroom right next to the seating area where guests from all the other apartments came for breakfast which was a little off putting. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, breakfast was delicious particularly the Venezuelan option, many thanks

One to return to.
A gem, a property of real character in an ideal location and a caring host. Only point to note is the shared bathroom (with one other couple). Fine for us for one night and it was spotless and no one hogged it, but if sharing is not your thing please note.

8/10 Very Good

Small, old apartment building, well-maintained, not easy to find from the photo but really right across from the funicular that connects lower Bergamo and the upper city. Shared bathroom with one other room, which was fine; kitchen area--nice to be able to make tea-- and Armando prepared breakfast to order daily; he also made box lunches if requested the day before. Drawbacks include lots of street noise and light from the streetlights (curtains are white, so don't darken the room), making sleep difficult. We had to keep the windows open for air, so the noise came up from below. Location is good for historic sites and shops, near the Piazza Vecchio, but if we visited Bergamo again, I'd opt for a place farther from the main street.

Felt like home
Uptown was a delight. I planning on staying for 3 days, and ended up staying 10. It’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, it kept me going for the entire day. The wifi is super fast and the bed is extremelly comfortable. Armando and his family are kind and great hosts. My room had a view to a brick-road that overlooked the Citta Nuova. This place felt like home.

In the heart of Citta Alta!
Although I stayed for just one night before catching my train in the wee morning, it was perfect as the bus stop heading to the train station was literally steps away from the apartment! The funicular is also situated in the same stop so accessing citta bassa is cinch! The hosts were super nice and gave honest opinions about places to see and of course, eat! Everying is in walking distance- you cannot get lost!! Don't get alarmed by the dark hallways and staircases in the building; there are light switches. It's an older building but has so much character to it. The entrance to the apartment is tucked behind the arch way, across from the funicular stop. My room was ready and clean with the necessary toiletries upon arrival. Too bad I did get to stay for Jesus Armand's infamous breakfast! Next time! If you're looking for a quick overnight or very short-term stay in Bergamo, stay here! It's also helpful to inform the hosts your time of arrival that way they will be prepared to greet you...last thing you want is to ring the door bell and no one answers :)
