8/10 Very Good

This is an historic property that is in process of being renovated. It is a charming collection of adobe style “cabins” that may have been used as a base camp for Pikes Peak. It was easy to locate and parking was good. It will only get better and better. It was a great pet-friendly value for our three night visit to Pikes Peak. It’s also close to Garden of the Gods and Cave of the Winds. Owner is very nice and accommodating. I recommend.

The Main Lodge is rustic and beautifully restored!! Great shape for almost 100 yrs old. My cabin was clean! Updated w/tile floors, nice shower, kitchenette, windows that open and bonus skylite. Attached was a private Pergola w/picnic table. Joey - Lodge Manager is friendly and very accomodating! Look forward to a return visit!

Really nice place. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom, and a view of the mountains. Owner is cool and attentive. Also right next door to a dispensary.

2/10 Poor

I actually slept with my personal protection here. Got to the property around 8:30 no one was in the office had to call a number and stand outside waiting for Ernie to come let me in. The exterior was unkept with high grass. Had a smell from the outside. The code to our room was written in a book on the desk. The cabin smelled like mildew. The minute we came in the adjoining cabin was screaming, cussing and you could hear items hit the floors. This went on ALL night! The shower had black tile there was white soap scum. All of the windows in our unit had been left unlocked. There was people loitering around the back of the rooms where you park and it wasn’t well lit. It’s sad because this place has real potential to be a fun place. Check out was the same had to call a number for Ernie.

we had booked a room in a cabin at the El Colorado lodge. It turned out we needed to cancel the day of because of some travel restraints. Anyhow we stopped in and the place looked nice and the staff was so kind and understanding of our situation. We are definitely planning to go back and stay some time in the future and were so blessed by there kindness.

We enjoyed our stay. 2 bedroom cabin is layed out oddly but worked for our stop on the way home. Room had definitely been cleaned but the odor of the cleaning products were a little too strong.

Historic & Clean
We enjoyed staying at El Colorado! The owner and staff were attentive, the room was very clean (I walked around in socks and they stayed clean), and the mattress was comfortable. This is a historic property so updating is complicated but they've done well with keeping it nice. I felt safe and there was lots to do nearby. Great coffee across the street. Was sad to leave.

Old but nice
Manitou Springs has been renovating their older hotels. This place is like living in a lodge. Our little lodge was clean and roomy. A clear view of Pikes Peak. Restaurants nearby. Easy access to highways.

Unique and comfortable, just needs more parking.
I love the one-of-a-kind appeal of little places like this one. The cabins are comfortable and quiet. The service from the woman at the front desk was outstanding. My only complaint is the lack of parking. I had trouble finding a place to park to check in, then a huge pickup was blocking the only spot beside my cabin. I went to the desk and the woman there was able to get the owner to move the pickup. I will stay there on future visits!

The room was adorable! I was pleasantly surprised. The only negative for me was no coffee creamer! The staff were all kind and the room was clean. If they fixed the pool to have that up and running this place would be a HUGE success!
