Excellent for the price.
Perfectly comfortable stay for a budget price. I stayed on the top floor which had a lovely countryside view. The room faced the High Street and although the traffic noise wasnt a problem lorries/HGVs were noticeable. All the amenities you expect and need, the room was very clean, comfortable and warm. The shower wasnt very powerful and couldnt be fixed high enough to use without holding the head in my hand to shower - and the shower curtain rail fell down, so one or two niggles but it didnt spoil my stay.

Wouldn’t stay again.
It could be such a nice place to stay but it is very run down. The hall way carpets are filthy. The doors to rooms are flimsy. The bed was uncomfortable. The bath need a proper deep cleaning. Taps wouldn’t mix the water when using the shower.
The car park was full up so we had to park down the road. Apparently it’s “limited” parking. This wasn’t mentioned on the website.
Unfortunately at about 9pm, a couple across the hall from us started arguing. The man actually came to our door. This went on for a while. Eventually the Police arrived. No one from reception checked in to see if we were ok.

The hotel is well placed in battle high street. Very easy to find with its own parking. The reception was very friendly and we were quickly shown to our room. The room was well sized, the bed a bit on the small side but it was ok. The bathroom was large and a bit shabby. There was a patch above the shower that had no paint on it and had obviously been repaired but not finished. The light fitting was hanging by it's wire above the shower which I found very concerning.

Terrible tv reception and smelly runner
The reason we booked here was so that we could watch the UEFA football cup final together. We specifically looked for a room with tv and the room did have one. However, it didn't work well so we retuned, but the picture became pixellated again later and it was imposssible to see the match. There was noone available to talk to about it.
Plus the blanket runner smelled of cheesy feet!

Hotel is very nice - think it might be a listed building as in keeping with the history of the area. Room is very nice and clean but awful smell in bathroom due to a leak they had which had been dealt with but they shouldn’t let the room until the smell is eliminated. It is an old building and think the owners are modernising the rooms. Bathroom needs a new sink as it is cracked which is not a good advert and room is very hot as unable to open window.
If all the above was addressed I would have no complaints about the hotel.

A bed for the night
Bed comfortable, large room, amazing view. Staircase is wonderful.
Poor condition of ceilings and plasterwork. It’s an old building but does need repairs and decoration. Basic facilities. Couldn’t get tv to work. Bath side panel loose which I hurt my toes on twice. Tea undrinkable due to poor taste water. Cheap price. Unlikely to stay again.

Unfortunately the water goes all over the floors when shower is on and the toilet leaked each time it was flushed. Place smelled clean when we arrived. I think will be fine once small things are flixed.

We didnt end up staying, there was no hot water. Also the bath was filthy. Communication about the no hot water was not good.
We asked for a refund and the receptionist was very apologetic and gave refund straight away
