Ideal location and clean room with great breakfast
The team were really helpful and attentive, the room exceeded my expectations and the breakfast was really good. Booking again for next week's business trip, much better than branded hotels fitter me!

Great location, good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, very tired decor, no proper shower (bath attachment), no shower curtain so have to kneel in the bath. Does not feel like good value for money.

We loved our overnight here. The pub offered everything we could wish for The room was comfy and clean The only warnings I would give for fellow travellers are: It is a pub on a main road so don’t expect peace The parking is NOT free it is town parking so you will have to pay. It is free from 7pm to 7am but steep cost after these hours

Friendly down to earth staff that were polite and courteous. The room served its purpose very well, was clean and welcoming and both my wife and I had a great nights sleep. Food choice and quality was excellent and the breakfast makes me salivate just thinking about it. Excellent, would definitely book again should we come to the area another time, well done and thank you.

2/10 Poor

Indoor camping at its worst. Filthy trash bin in toilet. Mould around bathroom tiles, shower screen seal was filthy and did not meet side of bath so excessive water spill to floor. Loud bangs late at night from fire door being used as an entry. Noise from above and below until after midnight. The food was good but that doesn’t make up for a dreadful experience compounded by the false excess charge applied to our bill.

4/10 Fair

The bedroom was on the main road and the noise of the traffic was bad. On Saturday night they had a disco with music blaring out until 11 o clock. It sounded like a nightclub and showed no consideration for guests. The price was £377 for 3 nights bed and breakfast which I didn't think was value for money. Can't recommend it.

Adequate room
Nice place, bit dated and could do with new carpets, but adequate for what we wanted. Central Chichester and lots of paying car parks near by, just dont forget the gate code to get in after midnight!

Quaint English Pub with Rooms Above
It is everything you'd expect from a traditional pub stay. There is a charming old bar; a bright, clean restaurant; outdoor seating; the same super friendly staff who serve your tea in the morning, make up your bed in the afternoon, are also pouring you a pint in the evening. When they are not accommodating guests, they're cleaning. The place is spotless. As other reviews have said, the only down side is the single pane glass so you can't avoid the noise from traffic. Pack ear plugs or ask for a fan for white noise. Breakfast is cooked to order, our room was clean and comfortable (much nicer than the photos), dinner was as good as any pub we visited. And equally as important, it was right next to city center, so you can walk everywhere in Chichester.

Great pub and restaurant with a large outside area. Great food and we enjoyed our evening dinners outside. Our double bedroom had all we needed. The breakfast is not the best, but good enough considering it was included in the price. In general, we had a great time there after our sunny times in Wittering and I’d recommend it.

Very noisy.
Pub is on a very busy road. Our room had no double glazing so traffic noise horrendous. Was very hot when we stayed but couldn’t open window for the noise. We were supplied with a very small fan when requested and staff tried their hardest to help. TV controller needs new batteries! Took a lot of fiddling to get it to work. Very small room with no wardrobe just a few hooks. Breakfast was ok. Plate very wet from where eggs and mushrooms cooked. Had to mop it up with a serviette. It is conveniently situated for the town centre and walking distance to theatre. Staff were nice and tried to help where they could but we will not be returning I’m afraid.

This is a very old pub situated on a busy main road with no double glazing, so there was traffic noise all the time. Being a pub there was obviously noise from the patrons, but not excessively on the days we were there and was quiet by midnight. The breakfasts were good, but the one evening meal we had on the first night ( pasta ) was not so we didn’t eat there again. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Of course, due to the age of the building there was no air con and it did get uncomfortably hot, especially the rooms at the back. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Strange mix. On the one hand it's a blokes "boozer" inside, with all the good & bad about that. The rooms were tired - although ours had a super bath and a nice big bed. The bedroom fittings could best be described as knackered! However, it's dead convenient for the city centre (important for me) and the staff were great - as was the breakfast, which was really excellent. So, probably great for a boys break - but not one for a romantic weekend away with the missus!!
