Comments
location is perfectly good and few mins to Kinosaki station, but the room without window and many stairs inside the hotel, not suit for large suitcase customer. need to book or reserve the bath room even you just want to take shower, there is no shower/bath in the room, also with non-reserve public bath, suggest to reserve or unable to use if occupied by someone. The hotel with food smell maybe this is traditional Japanese hotel but also acceptable. However, the carpet front of toilet with smell in our room and we hope hotel could improve it.

Fabulous experience
We enjoyed our visit to this onsen town - the hotel was a short walk from the train - we were warmly welcomed and experienced Japanese hospitality at its finest. We had a toddler with us and the staff went out of their way to accomodate him. The traditional rooms were amazing and all the little touches, with complimentary kimono to wear around onsens, were an added bonus. The traditional Japanese fish banquet for dinner was sensational as was the Japanese breakfast. If you want a complete Japanese experience in beautiful surroundings with very caring and helpful staff then you must stay here.

Nice service
Very nice service. The owners and the staff are so helpful and thoughtful. Even offer us an umbrella in the rain. They tell us to leave the umbrella in the railway station as we are leaving. We are flattered. The owner and some staff can speak English. Even those that do not will try their best to serve and help you. Strongly recommend.

Great service!
Wonderful service, great food that was served to us directly in the room. Traditional Japanese style service. We really enjoyed the pass to all of the hot springs as well. The people were very friendly and it was the best experience! Glad we went with this ryokan out of all the choices in Kinosaki. Also enjoyed that they had access to hot springs within the hotel and could reserve to make it our own private time.

Let down by crazy wait staff
This is the budget version of ryokans. Everything is nice enough but not the spectacular and relaxing night you would expect at a ryokan. The food is ok, lots of different courses to sample but again, not a real wow. The owner is a lovely man but I'm sorry to say the stay was especially ruined for me by the server woman who kept bursting into the room without knocking, screaming "Excooze meeeee". She tried to hustle me to eat fast and was making up the futon beeside me while I was still eating. Not remotely relaxing. Kinosaki-onsen itseelf was a bit of a disappointment. I had expected the outdoor onsen, steam rising and fab views from the photos of Japan but here it's just plain old bath houses.

The perfect onsen experience!
We loved our two nights staying here it made the whole experience of being in Kinosaki. The food was great and the staff very friendly and helpful, they even helped me get into my traditional yukota. It was wonderful having the private onsen in the hotel and then being able to go out to the public onsens which were all very close by. I feel we had a very traditional onsen experience and I am so pleased we decided to stay here.

1 night at Mikuniya
Nice ryokan, nice people, good service, delicious meals, onsen experience inhouse, everything was so pleasant. 3 mins walk from the Kinosakionsen train station. The service was exceptionally excellent! Had snow crab sumptuous dinner spread and breakfast was also great with rice, onsen egg, tofu, miso soup etc.. Wore yukata to stroll on the streets with snow and going to public onsen was really a good experience!

Very happy first-time ryokan guest
Good job at adapting a Japanese tradition for (western) tourism.
Staff are very obliging and everyone including onsen staff understand one's needs.
As a single traveller, the room was reasonably spacious and comfortable.
As long as one is prepared to abide by the procedures, everything flows smoothly.
Dinner is served in the guest room from 18:00 - 18:30. The overall dinner process takes about an hour then shortly after, the staff prepare the sleeping arrangements ie futon on tatami floor. This is a good time for an evening stroll (it's a small town so need for a map) then take an evening bath in one of the 7 public onsen.
Breakfast is served from 08:00-08:30 in the communal room with separate tables for each room. Whilst this is a communal dining room, the atmosphere is very quiet and private. After breakfast is another good time for a stroll and morning onsen.
Staying for two nights, I took a day trip to appreciate the views of Amanohashidate.
Make sure to pickup a complimentary postcard from reception for which postage is arranged for free. Complimentary yukata is provided so you do not need much clothing during your stay (other than underwear). Even complimentary tabi (split toe) socks are provided to keep one's feet cosy.
For the ryokan and onsen novice such as myself, have an open mind to enjoy the overall experience. Leave any personal (emotional) baggage at home then you will have an enjoyable experience.
