Clean and comfortable hotel near beach
This is a clean and comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Bexhill, with easy access to the beach. Friendly staff. Car parking (note that some of it is behind the hotel). Minor gripes? £4.20 for a mint tea is a tad expensive. The 'sea view' from our room was slightly disappointing - the view was partly obscured to the right by a wall. However, overall this was a pleasant stay, and we would return.

Good hotel with a good location
Lovely hotel with great position overlooking the sea. All staff were very helpful and friendly and service was good. Room was very clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Ate in the restaurant and the food was very good with a good choice . Overall the hotel ticked all our boxes and we would certainly stay there again on our next trip

I'm sad I only stayed for one night. I stayed in a single room and it was such a peaceful night's sleep. The shower was great and the room was spacious and had everything I needed. Beautiful location on the seafront and the breakfast buffet was fab with plenty of healthy or classic choices.

Lovely quiet spot by the beach, for a newly refurbished hotel it was a bit tired in places, having just one menu lunch and dinner was disappointing if you want more than two meals. Coronation chicken sandwich and fresh fish specials were excellent.

Mixed feelings Staff all seemed lovely… really liked the bathroom, view, and we were upgraded and thank god we were… its soooo noisy heard way more from next door than wanted and the extractor was uber loud and the doors.. extra loud. nothing would have been resolved by complaining…. and i feel we had a great room just a very noisy place. Breakfast team were sweet and the selection was plentiful.. what a location though…

Perfect escape to the sea highly recommend a visit
Lovely get away stunning views was so nice to sit outside on the Terrace having a cream tea whilst looking at the sea. Best ever vegan cream tea I highly recommend! Staff friendly and accommodating. Room had beautiful views over the sea. Could walk straight onto the beach from hotel. Nice quiet location. Perfect to get away from if all. We didn’t use the spa but would love to next time.

We have dined at Cooden beach hotel many times but this was first time for overnight stay. We loved every minute as it was my husbands 88th and our 64th wedding anniversary. Will be visiting again very soon. Thankyou

I stayed a night with my mother, who is a wheelchair user. The staff, especially the manager who was on reception that day, and the housekeeper, were thoughtful and helpful in meeting my mother's needs. All other staff were friendly and efficient too. The rooms were clean, well appointed and suitable for our needs. My mother stayed in the wheelchair accessible room was great, but between there and the bar/restaurant were three sets of heavy doors and one steep ramp, which made getting there and back unnecessarily difficult. I would suggest the hotel fit soft/delayed-action door closers on this route and look at how the ramp could be made easier.

Enjoyable stay by the sea. Good hotel with a few quirks. Still undergoing development hence some areas rather sparse. Outside seating excellent and good views of sea. Dinner with good menu selections. Breakfast choices a little sparse particularly midweek. Would stay again.

Consistently High Standards Over the Years
I recently chose to stay at Cooden Beach Hotel, having known it for its high standards back in the 1980s when I lived nearby. I’m pleased to report that the hotel still offers the same good quality experience today. It’s reassuring that it has maintained its standards over the years.

A fantastic hotel in a unique location, but because we do not have a car, Cooden Beach (Southern) Railway station was only yards away together with the ease of hailing taxis to Bexhill-on-Sea.

Unhappy
We were disappointed with the general state of the bedroom, a high level of maintenance and dressing of bathroom was not met. Bathroom door was broken and there were faecal stains in the toilet. For the cost of the room, food and drinks I’d expect much better service and quality. We also did not like the fact the hotel was not exclusive to hotel guests only and therefore service on the terrace was poor and hotel guests like ourselves were not prioritised.

Very nice suite that we stayed in but general decor throughout hotel was very inconsistent and just very random with nothing actually matching . Breakfast on first morning very good value and pleasant. 2nd morning being Sunday it was a buffet which was somewhat chaotic as hot food not being attended to and kept running out.
