Friendly welcoming hotel
We booked the hotel because of it location and the hotel was in a easy to find, with plenty of parking. On arrival the staff were very welcoming and took us up to our room. The room was only set up for three people even though we had booked for four. They quickly sorted out more towels, however we did have to chase for bedding. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were all very friendly. As we planned to leave before the time they served breakfast, we let them know and they provided us with a breakfast in front of our door. We couldn't have an evening meal in the restaurant as they weren't open on the Sunday after 6, however lots of local alternatives! All the staff we came in contact with were very helpful and friendly and welcoming would stay again!

Weekend at The Wheatsheaf
Enjoyed our stay. Highlights were the food and the service. Breakfast and dinner really good, lovely area and friendly staff. Room and communal areas were clean, there was a good selection of tea and coffee in the room, decent storage with hangers, good wifi and TV channels. In truth, the room was tired, mattress and pillows need replacing ideally. Bathroom very cramped, not really enough room to shower in any sort of comfort, a shower cubicle would be better (if possible). We liked the selection of shower gels etc, but there didn't appear to be any handwash. Road noise wasn't excessive but we were there over the weekend and it was noticeable - the windows are old and single-glazed, which probably can't be changed due to the age of the building. Overall though, good value for money and would happily recommend.

Lovely Breakfast
Hotel with rooms above the pub. On a fairly busy road so there is noise throughout the night. But not excessive Room included a lovely cooked breakfast. And the bed was comfortable. Room was not dark due to a very bright green emergency light above the bed

The only thing lacking making this an all 5 star review is the mattress. It needed replacing. Staff were great! Check in was easy. Breakfast was classic English and very good.

Not bad for the money but needs better wifi.
The room was adequate. My only complaints were the mattress was hard and lumpy so I had to sleep on top of the duvet, the wifi didn’t reach the bedrooms (highly irritating when you’re on a business trip), and the road noise was quite annoying, but there’s nothing the hotel can do about that. Apart from these problems it was fine. It was clean and tidy and it was handy having the bar and food just downstairs. Cheap and cheerful as long as you don’t mind the things I’ve mentioned.

2/10 Poor

The bedroom doors couldnt be locked and the showèr didntnt work. Despite them saying my room had just been cleaned the bathroom was riddled with hair.
