Generally lovely
Really enjoyed my time here, mostly peaceful, food good and left alone as needed privacy. Lovely pub and surroundings. Only gripes would be loud music until 2.00am in the morning one of nights I was there, but I guess this comes with staying in a pub. Also nasty smell in shower/toilet room, Maybe a problem with water pipes. Sort of like a dirty drain smell. Shame as the rest of my experience was great.

Bites after staying
Good size carpark just make sure you put in the registration number plate at the bar! Check in at the bar Shown to room All information given then Room was up a flight of stairs Very spacious room as was the shower room. Stunning scenery views. Bed was comfortable until I got bitten woke up at 3:30am itching a few bites marks on different parts of my body, when informed the lady in the morning was very apologetic and said her boss be would down shortly. The landlady came down and asked if It was a allergic reaction to the bed sheets !!! Even though you could blankly see they were bites ! Well we've never had bed bugs before and it's a new mattress! Was my answer! And that was that !!! Shower was hot ,not very powerful and stop ½ though and then come back on cold ! Then hot hot again so hurrying to get finished before it stopped again! Breakfast included Evening meal was excellent lots of good choices Available and excellent value Lots of special pies Location is set in beautiful countryside but not much close by . Because of the bite marks and shower I wouldn't stay again But would definitely eat in the restaurant again! .

Great Accomodation
Good value and nicely equipped rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly which added to a pleasant stay. We were a four man fishing group and breakfast from 07:30 was great for us to make an early start. Food was good and reasonably priced (we ate in the restaurant all three nights). It is highly likely that we will stay again next year.

Really nice stay but shine was taken off by one of staff being quite confrontational. Lovely welcome and check-in spoiled by an older lady I believe called Nicola (that’s what came up on the digital till when I purchased a drink later in the evening) who involved herself unnecessarily in the check-in process. The room was really nice and great value for money. I had a great view of the surrounding countryside. I booked a table for dinner and I found the food okay but again Nicola starred by being argumentative when I made an observation about the overcooked chips I was served and didn’t eat. In conclusion I generally enjoyed my stay but my overarching memory is the confrontational approach by Nicola which would probably prevent me from a repeat stay.

Amazing hotel.
I loved my stay at this hotel. The bed was warm and comfy, the room and en suite were spotlessly clean. I had the best nights sleep in years. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was fantastic even producing me a meal for specific dietary requirements with a dish not on the menu. I have nothing but praise for this hotel and intend stay here if ever I need to work in the county again. Thank you to all the staff.

Anchor Inn Stay
The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was made with fresh produce, the portions were of an adequate size and it was very tasty. The room was well equipped, the only criticism would be a full length mirror in the room would be benificial and you could not fit your legs beneath the dressing table as the chair was too high. In the en-suite the toilet seat was loose and some discolouration of of the plastic seal at the bottom of the glass shower screen. The carpets in the accommodation corridor need cleaning .

Rooms over a decent Pub, just perfect for me.
Comfortable with great staff in all areas. Rooms over a decent pub with an honest hearty food offer, what's not to like.
