Kelo-Glass Igloo was fantastic!
Fantastic resort! Only one restaurant was open and the food wasn’t great (it was fine, just not great) but everything else made up for it. We stayed in a lovely Kelo-Glass igloo and absolutely loved it. The activities were fun—best were snowmobile, dog sledding and feeding the reindeer.

The staff was incredible. The stay was overall good, the resort is beautiful, though for the price, I expected more. The food left a lot to be desired.

Outstanding and memorable stay. Great adventures, northern lights and family fun. Food options were limited, especially for dinner and the service ended at 9pm, which didn’t work when we were out on a husky adventure and missed out. BUT, the husky adventure was AMAZING! Overall, an incredible stay!

Serene Arctic Escape
An excellent resort with beautiful, cozy cottages that keep you warm even in extreme temperatures as low as -30°C. The entire experience was very well organized, and the in-room firewood setup is a must-try for a charming and authentic touch. The food is thoughtfully curated, with great consideration for vegetarians, which was a pleasant surprise. Do note that the resort is in the middle of nowhere, offering unparalleled tranquility — but that also means you should carry some snacks for your room. Stepping out in harsh weather conditions requires caution. Overall, a fantastic stay and highly recommended for anyone seeking a serene Arctic escape!

Stay on the west side!
When we arrived we found that we had booked the east side igloos that have to shower facilities & a long walk through the snow to get to a shared shower room. This was not what we were expecting for such expensive accommodation! Luckily we got help from a great guy named Anastasios who got us into the west side of the property with an upgrade to an igloo with great facilities, where we saw the northern lights! Thank you so much Anastasios for saving our bucket list trip from being a disaster! You have great understanding & very helpful customer service skills! The resort is much better in the west side…east side I would rate not much higher than back packer accommodation at a ridiculous price! The food could be better too for the price!

Best Hotel in Finland
We stayed at the Kelo of West Village and it is very clean and cozy where you have your own sauna, bathroom, kitchen and of course the signature igloo. Staff are very helpful and we’ve also met the owner who’s very friendly and welcoming. We’ve stayed 5 nights and 3 nights with eye-visible northern lights. Oh and I have to mention, dinner is surprisingly delicious!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the keto glass cabin with it's own sauna inside. It was clean with towels and slippers waiting. The trails were clear and easily walkable, day or night. Food was good and the wait staff were very friendly. My missing luggage was delivered right to my room as soon as it arrived. I'd stay here again

Very limited shuttle service in the resort and poor scheduling for the shuttle. For the room price they’re selling, they should provide better service, not an excuse to customer.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to experience Lapland without being in a crowded place

2/10 Poor

Hotel staff are not helpful. Luggages need to be handled by ourselves, bringing them all the way to our room in a snowy ground. We have booked the Aurora Hunting activities. Although we knew the weather is cloudy and the chance to see aurora lights is low, the guide is not friendly at all. Also, we were kind of scammed as the ski tracks are two straight flat lines without any slope. I’ve paid an expensive price for the ski rental and the information about the skiing activities are not clearly stated on their official website. Overall, we regretted having stayed at the resort.

The most unique accommodation for northern lights
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This place is one of a kind with glass dome windows in half of our large suite. There are only two of us, but the place can accommodate at least 6. We saw Northern Lights on our last night there and it was an unforgettable sight for a lifetime. The meals were also delicious, coupled with a variety of activities within the resort, such as snowmobiling, reindeer ride, visiting Santa's home etc. We can't wait to go back again soon!

We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We loved the Kelo cabin. Everything about this place made for a very relaxing vacation. We were very satisfied the dining each night. They had four main menus that rotated each day. Our favorite excursion was the dog sledding. We have enthusiastically recommended Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort to all of our friends and family.

6/10 Good

Despite not being in the high season, with lots of empty rooms available, the hotel staff insisted that the check out time is 10am and was unable to provide a late check-out even if we are willing to pay extra. I can understand if the hotel is really busy, but there were very few rooms occupied during our stay. Also, breakfast was pretty bad too. But the rooms are spacious.

4/10 Fair

Overpriced, overrated, overcrowded, understaffed. At peak holiday times this property is just too large to be able to keep a good quality of service. Staff is overstretched and exhausted having to deal with unruly and noisy groups. I would not recommend a stay there to solo travellers or couples. The location is nice but transport to the nearby village is limited and expensive (100 euros return for a 15 km ride!). The menu fixe restaurant has only three choices, two of which Indian (why??). Activities are ok but not well explained at booking: we discovered that a two hour “adventure” actually lasts only 30 minutes as the rest of the time includes transport, dressing up with warmer clothes (included in the price) and explanations/ instructions. Cabins are nice and well heated and they have a private sauna. They have a kitchenette but unless you bring your own food they are useless given the cost of reaching the closest supermarket. At 800 dollars a night we were expecting something with better facilities and service. This resort has neither.
