Not a hotel but a B&B (the apps seem to market it as a hotel) in good location behind the cathedral and not too far from the Capo market. First impressions of the area may make you apprehensive as it’s down a small street in residential area undergoing refurbishment. However once you’ve been 24 hours you realise it’s a safe and friendly area. Note that there is no 24 hour reception (it’s only open during the morning). I suggest you make arrangements to gain access before you arrive as it’s a code controlled door to get in. If you don’t (like we did) don’t panic, call them. We booked a deluxe room which was on the second floor (there is a lift) advertised with ‘balcony’ but the balcony was the passageway to the room overlooking a small courtyard without anywhere to sit. Probably nice in the summer as it was a shady room. Room was clean and contained a double bed one seat and a small wall mounted tv. There was a large en-suite but no where to hang the towels. There was a fridge, a kettle and cups but no coffee or tea. Breakfast was typically European cheese, ham, croissants, fruit, yogurt and was from 0830 to 1000. It’s a family run establishment and the staff were friendly and eager to please. If you stay here it feels like it’s responsible tourism. Finally, There is a small alimentary about 5 minutes away which is open 6 days a week till 2000. Not a luxury experience but an authentic experience of Palermo.

The place is very close to the Palermo cathedral and eateries, very convenient. Nice to include breakfast. The only place throughout our monthlong trip in Italy with legit air conditioning. The place falsely advertised onsite parking. There is a public parking lot within a block but it is full and over parked at all hours all day every day. There street parking also is always full. Public and street parking is not onsite parking.

The room, in fact it was a suite, was spacious and clean, with a refrigirator and AC in each room. The only issue was that the shower glass doors were installed very unstable and one of them falled on my husband during shower. The glass broke in small pieces and even wounded slightly my husband. However, the manager arrived immediately and cleaned the bathroom and flat. The location was wonderful.

Overall excellent with an amazing breakfast of homemade baked items. However, our arrival was a bit odd. At 4:00 PM there was no staff at the premises. After no response to the doorbell, we were forced to activate costly international roaming on our phone (the only time during an 18-day trip) to reach someone who provided information on how get in. During our 5-day stay, it appears there was no management around after noon--sometimes not even after 10:30 AM.
