Elegant
The room was all tastefully decorated in silver and sparkles. Quite a pretty surprise! The gentleman running it was delightful. It was in easy walking distance to the beach …about 5 minutes at slow speed. Beach was lovely.

Wake up at daybreak!......
We stayed in a deluxe suite for two nights. This is a lovely room with large bathroom although quite a small shower. Bed very comfortable and all is exceptionally clean. The problem we had is that the curtains are very thin and our room has large bay window plus side window so in the summer you get woken up at sunrise around 4:30 am. (Unless you're a good sleeper of course!) There are few facilities so it is really an expensive bed & breakfast. Very good continental breakfast, which was fine for us, although sign says "no cooked breakfast available." We asked the owner if any rooms had blackout curtains and he said 'no' as none of his clients wanted this and he's been in the business for 46 years so he knows best! He also said if we want dark curtains we should stay in another hotel!
Lovely bedroom apart from very thin curtains.

Great space for a short break.
Well positioned for the beach or walking along the esplanade to Poole or Bournemouth. A friendly welcome, comfortable room and a good continental breakfast.

Very pleasant and welcoming stay.
Had a lovely pleasant stay. Had a very welcoming experience from the owner who seemed genuinely pleased to see us. Gave us all the information we needed and showed us to our room. The room was immaculately clean and very spacious, as was the en-suite. Breakfast was an abundance of fresh yoghurt, pastries, cheeses and cereals. Hot tea and coffee with crumpets, toast etc. would definitely recommend and we will stay again.

Weekend away.
Great location 4 minute walk and your on a beautiful sandy beach, which is away from the main Bournemouth beaches. The hotel itself is an old building, but in excellent condtion throughout. My wife and I stayed in the Dolphin room which has recently been upgraded to be modern with a walk in shower. If i had to look for points to metion to the owner these would be. Lack of a cooked breakfast for me is an issue, when spending this sum of money per night and i dont beleiev a continental breakfast cuts it, although this was excecuted well. I would have also expected replacment towels each morning as there was no way to dry our wet towels, so we had to dry ourselves with damp towels. The bathroom does have an electric heated towel rail but this would not work for us The evening was chilly in the room and there was no heatinh that could be controlled from the room to generate some heat, this also shiild be addressed.

Location is good and the Managers staff were very friendly. We were met by the manager on arrival who asked why we hadn’t answered a email about twin beds or double beds. I stated we hadn’t received the email and he spoke over me and obviously didn’t believe me. He said we should’ve booked direct and saved £50. Not a good greeting really. On leaving at 7am this Morning, we didn’t want to leave our key on the desk and as there was no key box we rang the bell as the sign specified. The Manager Chris arrived to announce “ I do need to sleep you know and that nobody has rang the bell that early in 9 years” totally spoilt our stay this man. I also don’t understand the 5 stars on his board outside as all this is, is bed and continental breakfast. So sad as his staff had the manners he was lacking. Won’t be returning ever

I don't think this property should be advertised as as a 4 Star Hotel (it has 5 stars on the website). It is a good guest house in lovely old house in a great location. It is not luxurious though and personally not worth the money we paid, should be more around the £120-£150 a night. For example there were no black out blinds, economy toilet paper and only continental breakfast. There were also quite a few signs up saying what you could and couldn't do. The beds were not faantastic and there were no other amenitoes apart from the owner could make you a drink.
