Perhaps it was due to being at the end of season, but the property was quite torn up for what looked to be rehab purposes. There was nobody in what looked like should have been the front desk / check in area. We found someone in the laundry area that was able to check us in. There were very limited amenities, such as no place on property to get ice. The room was small with dark decor and poor lighting. The TV worked fine and there was a small fridge and microwave. A large fabric curtain separated the toilet and shower area from the rest of the room. There was no screen in the back window, so we were not able to open it up to let fresh air in, for fear of letting in bugs. The property has potential, but it didn't show well when we stayed.

Beautiful mountain cabin, rustic, scenic and the staff was very friendly. Good food and coffee options until off season at the end of September.

Place worked out great for us: grill, firepit always going, and stream running thru it.

I’m giving this motel style cabin a 5 based on location and the enjoyable owner! You are literally at the NE entrance gates to Yellowstone. I’m sure the owner didn’t even know the carpet was wet by the bathroom. I was remiss in not letting him know but we only slept and left.

Rustic
The setting is spectacular. The facilities are rustic. The cabin was clean, but not super secure: A grizzly could easily swat the door or window open. The toilet was separated from the bed by only a thin curtain. My cabin was so close to regular rooms that I should have saved a few dollars and simply got a room. Check-in went smoothly and the man made sure I knew how to turn on the baseboard heat. My dog was welcome, for an additional fee, and there was plenty of room to walk him.

Nice to stay with close access to Yellowstone and the Lamar Valley. The staff were friendly. There seemed to be a lot of stuff around. But for a place to sleep it worked. I would stay here again.

Accommodations are basic - definitely not a luxury motel. But who cares. If you are looking for fun, funky and convenient you could not ask for a better place to stay. Very close to the NE park entrance. Coffee, breakfast and dinner places within a 1-2 minute walk. Surprisingly interesting food choices. Motel staff are super friendly. We would stay again.

Liked the little cabin on the creek. Very quiet. It had turned cold but there was on only 1 coffee in the room. We had to find staff to help get us some. They did not have any in the office and everything was closing. There was no extra blanket for the bed. Would have been very welcomed.

This is a small, independent, mountain town motel. The grounds were definitely rustic, uneven, gravel driveway, but the room was great. Clean and cute, looked like a mountain lodge. Check-in staff was friendly and knowledgeable. A couple of food options within walking distance and more services (gas, food) three miles east in Cooke City. We ate at the Royal Wulff Tavern across the street. Limited but good, healthy menu options, nice bar and friendly staff, lots of Hemingway memorabilia. Would definitely stay at the Grizzly Lodge again.

Hot water for showers was great! But bring your own soap as all we had was some hand soap that was almost impossible to dispense. One washcloth was not clean when we arrived but other linen was fine. Heater in room worked.

Being in Silvergate, MT, there are only a few places to stay. Considering that, this was a very decent place, was clean and comfortable, and even had a fire pit. It is surrounded by amazingly beautiful mountains. My only complaint is that I wasn’t able to stay an extra night because the whole area is completely booked well in advance, which is of no fault of the property management. BEWARE, IF YOU’RE PLANNING ON STAYING IN SILVER GATE OR COOKE CITY, MT, (Yellowstone Northeast entrance), MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ROOM RESERVATIONS, as there is nowhere else to go within hundreds of miles.

Great location near yellowstone north east gate. Our room was a lodge cabin type clean and cute. Even though I stayed w my husband I did not like that there was a curtain to bathroom instead of door but it worked fine for the 1 night we stayed. Staff was nice as we had some charge issue and they resolved quickly. Overall I would recommend.
