I used this Ibis hotel as my base for several days of sightseeing in Arles and the surrounding area. The hotel itself is nice enough, especially for the price. The included breakfast is well-stocked an uncrowded, and the room is clean. The air conditioning struggled a bit during the mini heat wave that settled on Arles, but it was OK.
On to the not-so-nice aspects:
1) The hotel is a good 15-20 minute walk from the old town, and there are no restaurants close to the hotel. I had dinner in the hotel's dining room twice--and had nice meals--because it would have been too much trouble to get back downtown. The hotel looks closer on a map to the areas you want to be at than it really is. One of the photos I've included with this review shows the view of the city, which is waaaaaay off in the distance. I saw an exhibit at the Luma center, which required a 30-minute walk to get there.
2) Immediately adjacent to the hotel is some sort of low-income housing area, replete with tons of vehicles, trash in the streets, chickens in cages, etc. I did not feel comfortable walking by it at night. I've included a photo of the view of this area as seen from the hotel's entry road.
3) Regarding entry roads, be aware that my iPhone's mapping software kept trying to route me close to the housing area and on to a locked gate. Better to take the slightly longer route out to the Main Street.
4) I tried to get an Uber on a Sunday morning, but there were none to be found.
