6/10 Good

Not Bad
Not bad, not great. The staff were great, probably the best part. The rooms are small and the bed was hard, which is fine with me, but miserable for my wife. Light switch situation is interesting and it was a challenge getting hot water.

Recent stay
Nice hotel in a great location. Overpriced in my opinion. Room was very small, no chair no desk no bench. Bathroom shower was nice but agin nowhere to even sit toiletries. Over $400 a night an an additional $30 a day to park. Like Asheville but probably will not stay here again.

4/10 Fair

Was through town on a motorcycle ride with my wife. This hotel is completely inept to the needs of riders. Valet is a group of 12 year-olds, who would rather BS with each other than to help a guest - actually had to ask them if they’d open the door as I walk up with arms full of luggage and gear. Room was really small and a bizarre electric drill or small blender noise in the HVAC closet on the hour every hour all night. Beautiful property, decent location within walking distance of a lot of shops and restaurants. Homeless population is very present as is the over abundance of Asheville weirdness. Don’t need to return; too many other great options.

We had a fabulous stay at The Flat Iron Hotel. Very courteous and helpful staff. Best water pressure of any hotel shower. Impressive attention to little details. There are so many choices in the downtown area, but we will only be staying here from now on.

This hotel is fabulous! I love how they have kept the old world charm and history of this building alive theough educational placards. I loved the coffee/tea/water station in each floor. The decor and tiles used in the bathroom are perfect. The pillows were heavenly and the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel products were so nice that i bought some for home. I am not one to leave reviews but the Flat Iron deserves this 5 star. From the doorman to the bubbly at check-in to the locely view from the rooftop bar, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous property! In the middle of everything fun! That’s if you even choose to leave the place. Great roof top bar and a basement speakeasy plus very good restaurant!! The fake doors with information on prior building occupants was fasinating!

I cannot say enough good things about the Flat Iron Hotel. The staff was wonderful. Very friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. The room was spotless. The bed sheets looked like they had been ironed. No wrinkles anywhere. The bathroom fixtures were shiny and spotless. Not even a watermark to be found on any of the bathroom fixtures. The bathroom amenities were excellent. Soft white towels. The spa products (body wash, shampoo and conditioner) were top notch. The shower water pressure was spa-like. Excellent water pressure in the shower. The roof-top areas provided beautiful mountain views. The hotel is conveniently located so that everything is within walking distance. If I have to provide a critique, it would be that they spoiled us and made us not want to leave! Highly recommended place. Will definitely stay there again.

Gorgeously appointed hotel, with careful thought having been given to every last high quality detail. A stay feels like being in an old movie, in a very good way. The building’s history was delightfully incorporated into its recent renovation . Every Flatiron staff member displayed excellent customer service skills when interacting with us. (Did note to two different employees that we heard loud and constant pop music coming from one of the establishments behind the hotel from 6am until 8pm during each of the 3 days of our stay. We were on the 4th floor - it woke us up each morning. )

I didn't realize this was a newly opened (historic & renovated) property when we booked our stay, but the newness was evident throughout. Everything was clean, shiny, and bright, with small (as other reviewers have pointed out) but comfortable guest rooms. We didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the room, so the room size didn't matter. It had everything we needed with nice, luxury touches - robes, slippers, cool eco-friendly refillable water bottles to take home, fabulous shampoo and soaps, and the cutest little gold flat iron that will be my go-to the next time I play monopoly! Another nice touch: the building housed offices in the 1920s, and there are plaques next to many rooms with interesting details about what used to be that room. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be more convenient. They offer valet parking, but there's a public parking garage about a half-block away. Highly recommend the Flat Iron!

Amazing stay - great location, super attention to detail in this retro roaring ‘20s design including the Red Ribbon Society (speakeasy). Fantastic victim roof top bar and complimentary beverages upon arrival. We look forward to staying here again!
