Needs a new elevator system
Room was very small but sufficient for our needs. The "city view" was a wall of another building, so the description was not accurate. The breakfast area was not large enough to accommodate the number of people staying at such a large hotel but the food itself was plentiful and on par with what you expect for a "breakfast included" hotel. The deal breaker was their new elevator system which was at best confusing and at worst a nightmare. We overheard one employee saying it is a new system and they are still working out the problems. In theory it should work: you push your floor on a computer pad and they swipe your key, and it tells you which elevator to take. But it never asks you how many people in your party. Before you know it, there are 30 people queued up at your elevator, you don't make it on, and you have to go to the back of the long line and wait to get another elevator. The process starts again. I hope the hotel is taking notes; this is a quick fix.

The hotel is real close to Times Square. Room was small, but it it was fine as we were not there much. The biggest down fall are the elevators. There are time the elevators are really busy and it’s hard either get up to your room or down. We ended up going down 35 flights in the morning instead of wait it out.

Amazing!
Great location! Car service for a fee was so helpful. Didn’t eat breakfast offered as we were out late and weren’t up and moving until right when it ended. Wish coffee would’ve been served later in the day but overall great. Elevators were a bit crazy because the hotel was so full, ended up using the stairs at times!

Dissapointed with Hampton Inn
The location was excellent, but several problems here. First we called several times to reserve a crib for the room and were told no problem at all, we will definitely have one to use. Then when we arrived they did not have one, which meant two miserable nights with crying child in the bed. Second the elevator system is ridiculous. It often took 30 minutes for an elevator to come and we were on 35th floor so walking was not an option. Would not stay here again.

Amazing however was unfortunate that towards the end there was a false alarm fire around 1 AM that really upset me and also people stopping by to check the thermostat and smoke detectors while resting in the room. Overall the stay was good.

Poor Hotel Management with life saving staff.
Check in was poorly organized. The absence of contactless checkin created bottlenecks. Busy season is exactly that. It comes the same time every year. I observed poor preparation for the influx of people. Elevators were overwhelmed, not enough space to accommodate guests for breakfast dining or monitoring non-guest poaching. Any additional room supply requests were not possible due to full capacity & limited supplies. Rooftop bar had excellent service. The staff were supporting a strained, overcrowded hotel. They were the only redeeming quality of this hotel experience. They gracefully handled circumstances out of their control. This hotel may be adequate for off season visits, but I do not recommend for busy seasons (Christmas to New Year.)

The Hotel it’s ok, this is the busiest time of the year. The restaurant on rooftops needs a better menu. It was clean, too busy.

Consistency
Our preferred Times Square hotel. Early checking is always free “if available” but every time we try to check in early “housekeeping has just got to the floor.” I’d bet $$ everyone gets told that unless you’re a diamond or medallion or whatever their preferred status guest is. It’s always the same at this location. Excellent staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast this time wasn’t that good. It was horrendously busy this time and the food wasn’t as good as last time. During peak times the elevators take forever. And no exaggeration we took 15+ mins to get to our room one time because the computer was assigning everyone to elevator 8 and no one to any of the others so when 8 came everyone didn’t fit. One time our floor didn’t show up and we had to take the stairs from 33 to 32.

The rooms are extremely small. But we managed. The elevator system is horrible. If you are not up and out of your room by 7:30 the latest be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for an elevator. They have 5 elevators and all are small. We had to walk 23 flights of stairs multiple times rather than spending an hour out of our day on a short trip waiting for an elevator.

Disappointed
The hvac system was noisy and occasionally extremely so. Did not get one decent nights sleep during my stay. And I’m used to New Yorks usual noise level. Breakfast was very crowded and always cold by the time I sat down. Was not acknowledged as a Hilton honors member at checkin.
