Caen - expect a characterless rebuilt ‘50’s city but was surprised at how much history and architecture has been retained. Hotel convenient and comfortable.

Location was very good. Receptionists were very helpful, in particular one who was totally fluent in English. In the breakfast room I observed that the knives and forks were placed with the handles at the bottom of the containers with knives and forks. It means everybody will touch the part you put in your mouth when they pick up theirs. It is also a health code violation (at least in the US). When I took my concerns to the reception they said, actually some other guest pointed it out also, but I do not think they will change it while you are here! REALLY. S I did not take breakfast any more in the hotel..

This hotel is in a good location although if your room faces the square it's a bit noisy at night. This didn't matter to us as it was great for people-watching. The hotel is clean and bed was huge. The staff were very unwelcoming on our arrival, they offered no map or information about the City. We had to ask about breakfast, and places to eat for dinner. It wasn't explained to us that thete was a guest bar/lounge. Different staff member next morning, same unfriendly demeanour. Although we reported that pipe under our bathroom basin was leaking, it remained unfixed for our stay. The 2 women working in breakfast room were the only helpful people we encountered. However, taxi drivers in Caen were great!

Good central hotel
Great location, friendly staff, spacious comfy rooms and a car park just feet away. It was ideal of a one night stop over for us but would also be a good centre for a few days. Restaurants just a short walk away and a nice breakfast. Would have preferred non machine coffee but it was still good.

A great Best Western in Caen, France
This Best Western is the best we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Situated on a public square with easy access to restaurants, bakeries, historic sites and public transportation, it is ideally situated. The staff were extremely helpful and gracious. Caen is a great place to base for short trips to the area and the beaches of Normandy.

Great location
Very clean hotel. Only provided 1 set of towels for 2 guests, had to ask for more. Also only 1 bottle of water. Room was very small, bathroom was good, great shower. Location was excellent, very central, easy to walk the city. Parking across the road, get ticket from hotel before you enter the car park for best rate. Very good breakfast, plenty of choices.
