Perfect Stay
We were warmly greeted by the manager, she was knowledgeable about beer choices and wine. Locals were friendly in the bar. We stayed for the 2nd time in room 4. Special room with stand alone bath in the bathroom which is separate to the bedroom with a sliding door. Lots of cobwebs in the bathroom Dinner was lovely Breakfast was very good with Gluten free bread on request. Would recommend and will definitely stay again

Brilliant value for money, staff are friendly and very welcoming. Room was very cosy and we had a lovely bathtub, water pressure was great in the shower too. For what you pay, you get more than your moneys worth, the breakfast was always tasty as well, we stayed for 4 nights and had breakfast every day and it never disappointed. We stayed for dinner on one of the evenings, I had scampi and my partner had the pie of the moment, can’t fault either dish. Both were well cooked and tasted great. The location was ideal for ourselves, as you are close enough to the popular towns and areas to travel to them, however not in them if you don’t want to be surrounded by the tourism of them 24/7. Staff were very friendly, especially Sam, who was happy to help with any queries and always had friendly banter, even lending us some bubble bath to borrow which was lovely. Wish I took more photos for the review, but here’s the bathtub.

Fabulous family stay - we stayed for two nights and had a great experience. The room was huge and had a comfy bed and great shower. The food was great, we had the breakfast and the Sunday roast. Everything was delicious. The team were amazing too, nothing was too much trouble and they were so lovely to our little 2 year old. With a location that provides easy access to both the lakes and the dales we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Quiet rural location, easy access to countryside walks. Nearby local shops. Impressive modern bathroom, comfortable nights sleep. Generous inclusive breakfast set your up for the day, with some continental option on request, if needing to get away before breakfast service. Good wholesome evening meal opens. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cosy country Inn
Lovely historic Inn dating back to early 1800’s, tastefully decorated to bring it a more modern style whilst keeping loads of traditional feature. Dog friendly. Lovely evening meal.

Wonderful country escape
Absolutely wonderful. Brooke was a delight and so accommodating. We came with a 10week old baby. The rooms are clean, modern and super comfortable. She popped a travel cot in ours for the baby. The shower was nice and toasty. Breakfast was delicious and great sized portion. We would definitely stay again.

Staff made us and our dog feel special, incredibly welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Room size was good and very good shower. They are rooms in a pub so a little noise from other rooms and flat upstairs.

Never has the landlady, Sam and her staff made us feel more at home. It really is like travelling from your home into hers. She went above and beyond looking after me and my family during our short stay. Hospitality at its greatest. Thanks again!

Lovely Gastro pub and the food was AMAZING ! Facilities were excellent and so was the room, however it was a little tired and grubby which let it down and the traffic noise kept me awake at night.

Very nice room and bathroom, newly refurbished. Warm welcome, delicious breakfast. We liked the 9-10am serving time. Disappointed the bar closed at 9.30pm. Dogs welcomed nicely, despite having failed to book them in when making the reservation.

Great food
We used a number of hotels on our trip, and this one had the best breakfast of them all. The hotel and rooms are nice, the staff are great and it's very dog friendly. We look forward to staying again some time.
