CONS: The room was not very clean. The bathroom fixtures were broken and their was mildew all over the shower. We found random small bugs in the room on 2 or 3 counts. The walls have cracks and damage. Staff were also not super friendly. No one ever smiles at this hotel. PROS: very comfortable bed. Room is very quiet and black out blinds work great. Central location close to shopping and the university. Hotel and surrounding area felt very safe even at night.

The hotel and room is a bit old. My toilet was blocked. The location is really good, walking distance to Tsinghua University Campus.

The hotel's location is convenient to go to Tsinghua University. The breakfast is good. But the condition is poor. Many places should be updated. Some mains sockets are in poor condition. The hotel is rather expensive.I would not recommend this hotel.

It's toasting hot thru out our stay! The room temperature is 29 degree C. The hotel response- we can not turn on air conditioning for you. But why? They couldn't give an answer that makes sense. All they did was to give us a fan and tell us open the window, and they claim they are 5 star hotel. A two star can do better!

2/10 Poor

Extremely unpleasant experience. Terrible service, staff are unhelpful and cold, not to mention rather rude. Had to keep chasing them to do basic things like housekeeping or assisting in bringing down the luggages. I even ended up having to wait for about 3 hours before they finally decided they could spare some time to help me, and this was after multiple calls made to them and even making a few trips down to the front desk to request for help, where quite a few staff were just idling around. I was quite shocked that they are also one of the rare few bigger hotels I stayed in China that does not have the food delivery robot, and the food delivery shelves are placed outside of the hotel, so if it's raining, it isn't very convenient. Note that the hotel also refuses to help sign for delivery parcels so it is quite troublesome to make separate arrangements. Another thing I really disliked was that the front desk and concierge kept trying to shirk responsibilities. When you approach the front desk, more often than not, they'll try to direct you to the concierge which is usually not being attended by anyone. The rooms are spacious but are quite old and aren't that clean either. Honestly, for the expensive price paid, it is very disappointing. Really, this hotel has nothing good going for it except for its prime location (right outside Tsinghua). If you aren't planning on going to Tsinghua for a long period of time, I highly discourage staying in this trash hotel.

Hotel is definitely over priced for the rooms as they need repair.. If it wasn't convenient, I would not stay again.. It took forever for them to find our reservation, though it was during COVID periods..

Tired rooms but great location near unis
Check-in is friendly, but the rooms are old and not in great shape. The bathroom was especially tired and a bit grimy. Location is great if you have business at Peking University or Tsinghua University. It’s a 1-km walk to the east gate of PKU, and just a block away from Tsinghua’s south gate.

Hailing cab through the concierge could be tacky, confirm price and tally with meter. Otherwise , this hotel is comfortable, clean and deliver up to standard.

I was visiting Qinghua and Beijing University. The location is so convenient to both universities. The staffs are very responsive and helpful. While visiting those universities, I was also interested in touring the city. The staffs gave me very good suggestions on the tours which fitted into my schedule, also helped me out getting taxi since I did not have WeChat pay. It was an excellent experience staying here

Not terrible, certainly not amazing
I suspect this is only a hotel to use if you have particular reason to be in this area. First an Expedia problem (I assume): we extended 1 more night (my mum is 79 so we didn't want to move rooms let alone hotel). All bookings were for 2 adults: hotel+breakfast but somehow the extra night booking stated on the reservation that only 1 person could have breakfast (unlike the earlier nights). Very odd. I didn't argue with the hotel and just paid extra since the reservation had the problem. A mistake by Expedia I assume. The staff were lovely. We don't speak Chinese and they tried their best (two or three of them could more or less communicate with us for most issues). The hotel was probably nice 5+ years ago but is dated now. We had numerous minor maintenance issues. No working aircon (possibly hotel policy as apparently moving room wouldn't have helped: it wasn't overly hot so we coped OK and they were kind enough to bring us a fan), kettle plug didn't work but we worked out it was the socket as it worked elsewhere, bathroom door kept getting stuck as a screw was loose and it took several minutes of fiddling each time to resolve etc. Everything was a bit dated too but not too badly. Good sized rooms though. We relied on Didi (China's uber as it were: a friend installed it on my Android phone via a local site as you can't from the normal Google Play -- there's no issue installing on iPhones I believe) so can't speak to taxi hailing.
