Pros: Extremely clean, comfortable beds, decent shower, fantastic location, good rates for NY Cons: not many, but strange set up practically i.e. obvious thought gone into providing little items such as flannels but zero thought into realities of living space...e.g. why put a shelf above the sink so its impossible to brush your teeth or wash and zero storage space except one rod to hang 5 items between 2 rooms, when there is a large kitchen which could've handled at least a drawer!? Apart from odd things like that, was a great stay!

Room was clean. Really liked having a kitchenette and island area. Convenient location to many restaurants and shopping. Hotel is a little difficult to find. Didn’t see a sign identifying it as the hotel. At check in , I was told further instructions would be in my room, but not told where in the room. I was leaving to check out when I saw a plaque on the wall by the door with the instructions. One of which stated I had to empty my own trash and take it to a garbage room on the other side which was not easy to find. I really didn't appreciate that. I've never stayed at at any hotel or motel where I had to empty my own trash.

Its Korean town their were prompt in reminding us to check out by knocking the door. That was really weird. Hotel and the City is a good place to stay if you are looking for somewhere good value and central in Midtown, New York City. The building is in an OK location just off Broadway and close to subway stations. The rooms are conversions of old apartments - some floors still have permanent residents. We rented one of the rooms on the top floor. It had two double beds pushed together and bunk beds, with enough room for six people to sleep. There is an en suite with shower and a kitchenette with stove, microwave and fridge. Everything is fairly recently modernised so I’m good condition. Best of all on the top floor the rooms have access to a small private patio area. It has seats for six and a large umbrella for shade. Plus views of the Empire State Building! The place seems popular with families and small groups. There’s a laundry and snack machines downstairs behind the security desk. Overall the place feels safe, isn’t too noisy, is handy for all the sights and it’s great to be able to hang out outside in the evening. We would come back here again.

This hotel doesn’t look like much from the outside…the entrance has a green canopy with a door. The room was exceptional…fresh, clean, & large enough to sleep 5 people. It was a bit expensive but it would have cost this much or more had I paid for 2 rooms elsewhere to accommodate 5 people. My only suggestion for this hotel for the future is to include a few washcloths with the towels. Otherwise, I really liked this hotel and would stay there again.
