I have stayed at other Hampton Inns, and this one was in need of a little facelift and maintence. The lobby area is somewhat dark as is the hallway to the elevator, and the rug on the first floor near the elevator was quite soiled. In my room, the digital display on the AC/heat unit was not working- so I could not adjust the temperature. The refrigerator temp was also too high and not adjustable, and it froze my fruit and drinks.
However, the staff was FABULOUS- very welcoming and helpful; and the breakfast plentiful. The room was very clean and bedding comfortable - although felt dark even with lights on. And I appreciated the toiletry amenities in the shower and bath (like that you aren't using extra plastic).
I was also disappointed that the pool was closed, as this was one of the features that made me choose Hampton Inn. It was not shown as closed on the Hotels.com website, but later I saw that it was on the hotel site.
