Shocking service
We went in the bar for pre dinner drinks and tried to pay on the room and were informed this is not possible which was a shame and not usual for this type of hotel. Time for dinner was prebooked and we arrived and we’re shown to our table. Food was lovely but whole meal was spoilt at the end when my husband ordered a liquer coffee. After chasing 3 times and 45 mins we were informed they couldn’t do it. Shame and a waste of our time and also a shame again that bill could not go on the room. We left feeling very disappointed.

Falling to bits. A hostel with a country house attached. Poor breakfast. Really didn’t enjoy our stay. Two single reds pushed together, sheets too small for the bed. Artwork in the rooms was sparse and poor. Just disappointing overall. Lack of care, lack of everything really.

The hotel room my wife and I had was a standard double room which to be fair was identified as a small double and the description and pictures were accurate, we would say its suitable for an overnight stay but for us not a longer stay than that. The bed mattress was very lumpy and resulted us not sleeping very well. Whilst the evening meal was ok it was a little bit pricey (as are a number of establishments these days), the breakfast however whilst there was a good selection the cooked breakfast was at best tepid but mostly cold and very disappointing. Some of the staff were generally quite good but some weren't smiling and warm as you would expect. Overall we won't be staying there again.

Disappointed
They gave us a disabled room even though we have not booked one. There was only one towel in the bathroom. The heating was broke and they ended up having to bring an oil radiator into the room. It was still cold. The bedding was terrible standard. Quality of the material poor duvet poor pillows poor. Also, it was meant to have a parking space directly outside with it been a disabled room however somebody had parked in the space and they could not identify who’s car it was. We had to park five minutes away from the room. Bathroom was tired and the whole place needed decorating. Not good value for £150

Ok for a night or two.
Was humid but no air conditioning or temp controls in room wasn’t ideal. Checkin was quick as was checkout. Grounds are lovely and the main building is very picturesque inside and out. Staff are ok, quick passive and lack the skills that most nice hotels demand. Breakfast was ok, everything ready cooked and kept warm so best to come early.

A lovely place to stay
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of hanging space although no drawers. There was a good selection of tea and coffee available in the room although the uht milk curdled my tea. Nice that Dove toiletries were provided in the bathroom. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. The historic building where the restaurant was housed is gorgeous. Huge fireplaces, high ceilings and panelled walls. I googled the history of New Place whilst eating breakfast. It would be nice if that information was available for visitors. I would definitely stay again
