Very welcoming
The custom service from Becky was outstanding. She made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The stay was great; we had everything we needed inside the tent. Outstanding stay and service.

Secluded and peaceful retreat.
Walden Retreat was an excellent get away to enjoy peace, privacy, and a truly beautiful setting. The “tents” are really like small bungalows and every bit as comfortable as a hotel room would be with air conditioning, bathroom and kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda and drinking coffee or building a fire in the fire ring and sipping wine and watching the sunset. If you are planning to visit some of the wineries, it is very close to the one concentrated around Hye. But it is a 45 minute drive into Fredericksburg. So the seclusion has pros and cons. We really loved our stay and hope to return again soon.

Reconnection getaway
Our anniversary getaway. Short trip but so much time to reconnect. It was so nice without the noise of any kind. It’s just you and the elements of nature. We had a great time grilling, star gazing every night and swimming. Can’t wait to try out during winter.

8/10 Very Good

We had to leave the car in a parking lot…would have been better to be able to park closer to the tents. They could make the golf carts that they use to carry everyone’s luggage available for visitors to use to and from the tents

Lovely weekend away
We loved our stay at Walden! We had wanted to go for awhile and enjoyed it a lot. Super comfortable bed, lovely views and quiet property. It was extremely windy when we were there, so we didn’t get to make use of the fire pit, and the tent was quite loud at night because of the wind but nothing to be done about that! Love that it is pet friendly, our pup really enjoyed it. An accessibility warning, you do park your car in a lot and then walk to your tent, so just keep that in mind if you have trouble walking etc!

Staff very friendly and helpful. It’s a bit off the beaten path which makes it more of an adventure. We stayed in a large tent overlooking the river … very scenic and relaxing location. Was fun to cook up steaks and dine at the tent. Really enjoyed it, will stay again.

Amazing experience! The staff was so friendly (we loved Kat!) and helpful. We felt like family from the minute we arrived. The grounds are gorgeous! We saw so much wildlife (various birds, deer, armadillos, etc), enjoyed laying in the hammock area, watched the sunset on our deck, layed and watched the stars from our tent. Just all around incredible experience. There is so much to do on the property you don’t need to leave unless you want to venture out. The gift shop is stocked with local items (and local beer!) The cabins have everything you need, I was skeptical of the AC in the tent but it worked GREAT. Cannot wait to go back in the fall when the river is higher.
