The room I booked was not available due issues with the building so I was placed in smaller room. I am due a refund because of this £40. The staff contacted me prior to my stay and explained the situation in full.

Wonderful stay at Broadview Lodge
Broadview Lodge is not a hotel, but a lodge at the University Campus in Norwich. Anyway the standard of the room is far better than many other hotels we stayed at in Britain, and the prices are very fair. We slept well in excellent beds, nice and quiet, the room was small but well equipped. Situated in the outskirts but only 15 minutes busride to the city. Breakfast is available, but we didn´t try it, because we had our breakfast with our local resident family. A very nice experience, we will definitely stay at Broadview Lodge next time.

On the whole we were quite satisfied with our stay, the staff were friendly and the room clean but sleeping was difficult in room 43 with boiler heaters and air conditioning churning away all night and apparently no means of turning them off, think the manager should be made to sleep in there for a week before guests are allocated it.

The room is functional with no frills and clean. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. However, the architect who designed the building needs stringing up. There is no soundproofing at all and the big open spaces are a huge echo chamber. Every tiny sound is magnified 100 fold so take ear plugs. And the lift only goes to the top floor. I travel light so the stairs were an inconvenience, if you had suitcases and needed to access the 3rd floor you will need to be fit. Overall, it is good value for money if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful place it works.

The satff were very welcoming and went out their way to help. The room was great. The only downside was finding it (not very well sign posted) and the side door is lethal. I crushed my finger trying to open it and although i noticed a sign after the event saying "dont use handle' it needs hazard tape or a mention on arrival.

I’ve stayed here many times and mostly it’s very good value for money. This recent stay I was in a small dark room no phone signal and poor wifi. The room was looking tired and neglected. I’ll be back because it’s so convenient but I hope for better next time.

Room was rather noisy due to event on in the students union but didn’t go on too late. earplugs helped. Fan was provided in the room. Fire alarm early in the morning was unfortunate but security attended quickly to sort out and switch off as false alarm.

Weekend in Norwich
We stayed at Broadview Lodge for a long weekend. It is not a hotel, but at lodge connected to the University of East Anglia. We have stayed at the lodge before. The rooms are nice, excellent beds, easy to acces with public transport and reasonable prices. But as it is an university lodge, there is not much traditional hotel service. For instance we had cleaning friday morning, but no cleaning saturday, sunday or monday - and at that point we needed clean and dry towels, because there was hardly no way to get the towels dried. The rooms have no aircon, but there is ventilation in the rooms - unfortunately the room we slept in the ventilation didn´t work which made it even harder to get the towels dry. The conclusion is: Its not a hotel, dont expect hotelservice, but the rooms are nice, you are close to public transport and the prices are reasonable.

Nice reception then downhill from there
The hotel is on the university campus, so noise is expected. True enough that died down at 03:30 am. But the walls are so thin, the person in the next room had a terrible cough and he might as well have been in the room with me. Could hardly see out of the window it was so dirty. This is a student room with a hotel price. Not for me.

Please don’t
Due to issues with concrete, my booked room was substituted for another room which was worse than a prison cell. 1 single bed pushed up against a wall and 1 pillow. No tv, no towels, no kettle, no washing soaps, no phone signal or wi-Fi, a shared lobby. It was basically a student room on campus. The hotel did notify Hotels.com prior to my 4 hour drive to the location but failed to notify me. I cancelled the booking when I saw the room and found an alternative hotel. Staff did help and apologise, but even so it was a horrific experience
