Bra hotell

4/10 Fair

I travelled with my elderly father, who uses a cane. The receptionist gave us rooms that were on an upper floor, one of the furthest away from the entrance. In addition, there was a mini flight of stairs in the middle of the floor that needed to be navigated to get to my father's room. My father struggled, but we were advised that this was a discretionary "upgrade" from the "cheap" room we had booked (it was one of the most expensive rooms on my trip around Scandinavia). On top of all of that, despite the name of the hotel being translated to "The Big Hotel", my room was one of the smallest I have ever stayed in - it was approximately 8 foot wide, 10 foot deep and about 9 foot high. It resembled a interior room on a cheap cruise ship. This is definitely NOT the place to stay if you are claustrophobic. In addition, the restaurant sells itself on being a nice quiet and idyllic place to enjoy food in a calm environment. The prices reflect this intent. However, the staff ignored smaller groups of diners, preferring to ALL hover over the larger group of diners (including a soccer team of REALLY rowdy kids), I guess in the hope of getting more tips. My steak was supposed to be medium rare - it arrived rare at best, but I could not get the attention of any of the wait staff and none of them came to check on how we were doing, and in the end I got up and went to the cashiers desk to pay after waiting for 20 mins for the bill. The cashier just said it was a busy night.

Well worth the price.
Reception staff welcoming and helpful. The room was on the top floor as I had requested; it was as described except for the low roof beam above the bed - Mind your head! There was no cleaning done in the room during my 3 night stay but I am quite capable of doing my own housekeeping. (perhaps they provide only a weekly clean for longer stays - I didn't bother to ask) Very comfortable bed and great choice of food for breakfast. Based in the centre of town with access to shops and places to eat, etc. but very quiet and peaceful. Will stay again.

Very friendly staff The steam room didn’t appear to be working in the sos and relax area. Hotel is great location for us flying in to Skavasta and meeting family travelling up from Vastervik. Next time will be our 4th visit. 😊

Love this hotel
I managed to get the last little room for a lot of money but it was a last minute change of travel and I couldn't see myself staying at any of the other hotels nearby. I've also been wanting to see how it looks after the new addition was opened. As usual I don't mind staying in a small room when I travel by myself. They're cosy, comfortable and clean and I absolutely loved the atmosphere even more this time! The new entrance and addition is gorgeous! I was glad to see that the restaurant was the same - the food is really, really good and the service is excellent. I sat down at 9.20 PM and had a delicious dinner. Although jetlagged, I managed to get down for breakfast the morning after (breakfast was included in my rate) since I've always loved the Scandic buffets. The spread is huge. You will not be disappointed.

Easter weekend in Nychoping
Stayed for two nights over Easter weekend, front desk very helpful and efficient, explained everything in the way of services and off to my room. Room was small but quite adequate for my purposes. Was able to walk to both parties scheduled over the weekend. Breakfast was adequate but space to sit quite limited when hotel was full, I hope they will expand the seating when the new wing opens soon. Overall a very good stay

The room was very small, 12m2 for two people. In bathroom was mold! The window was working on the window, couldn't look outside. Pool was locked. Max 2 stars!

It locates at center of Nyköping, walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room and bathroom is small. As there isn’t much choice in Nyköping, overall it is fine.

Nyköping stay.
My only criticism was the size of the room. Yes it was a double but no seating for two and very little suitcase room. Absolutely first class in all other areas. First class location too.
