The WIFI was spotty, the pool was empty, the room was dirty, there were no towels, there was no refrigerator that was paid extra for, then the one that was brought had no front feet so the door would hit the floor so you couldn't get in. The door would not lock and the extra chain lock had been torn out of the wall/door jamb.
The lady at the check in counter was very nice and asked the owner to refund our money to no avail, we will see what hotels.com and pay-pal can do for us. Funny thing is when we went back into the office, we weren't the only couple in there wanting our money back. Apparently the pictures that are posted on the website were taken by the previous owner when the lodge was very well kept!
We went to another hotel and when we were asked if we had reservations we said yes, but somewhere else and that the place was a pig pen and the check in person laughed and said the lodge on the river? YEP! they are well known in town for this.
We normally don't write reviews but felt we needed to this time as this was such a catastrophy. The only stars in this were the young people who appeared to be trying their best to make this work for a owner that treats them like garbage. Our only wish for them is to move to another employer who will value their hard work.
