One of the best hotels we have stayed.
The building, the staff, the service were all outstanding. We also attended the Heritage Tour with Newton Thomas D’Sousa who’s knowledge of the hotel was amazing, he’s a jewel in the Taj Crown

Wonderful service with a wonderful view (if you choose the sea view rooms). Restaurants are all superb with special recognition to the japanese, chinese and indian restaurants. A tour around the hotel is must in order to appreciate the grandeur and history of this iconic institution. Totally recommended

The location of the hotel was perfect. Short, easy walk to all of the major sites in Mumbai. There are plenty of restaurants/cafes walk-in distance from the hotel. Overall, we had an excellent stay. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, the premisses are beautiful and hospitality is amazing.

Our room was on the 10th floor where airline crew are also booked. Rooms are cleaned at 4 in the morning after one set leaves and before the next arrives. Noise caused woke us up one night. On the second night housekeeping rang door bell at 22.30 , we were asleep, to ask if we wanted anything.
This spoilt our stay a bit at a hotel with excellent location, service and amenities

It was lovely. All the staff were very attentive and went out of their way to assist you. Just be aware that if you are on one of the upper floors there can be late parties (3am finish) on the roof top bar which you will hear. Otherwise, a little oasis of calm surrounded by chaos

Beautiful historic hotel continues to shine. Modestly sized rooms but the ocean facing ones directly overlook the Gateway of India and have a small balcony. I'd choose the less expensive Tower rooms that give you the same experience as the older historic building. All in all a magnificent hotel that fully lives up to its reputation for overall excellence.
