Staff were very friendly & welcoming. We asked if we could change one of our rooms to a connecting twin & double which was done without any questions or issues. We then relised we forgot our toothbrushes but again this was rectified by a quick visit to reception who have complimentary items for this very reason. We did have to ask for bath towels but noticed someone else doing the same so assumed this is the policy Holiday Inn have at the moment but again reception were very quick to hand over without any questions. We didn't have the breakfast as we wasn't sure if breakfast was going to be in the restaurant or the room so booked the Havester next door. Can't remember staying in a Holiday Inn before but would definitely book again as the service was excellent throughout.
The room was a nice size and clean. My concerns are that there was a constant buzzing noise which I found annoying (however not bad enough to prevent me from sleeping either) and I found the aircon unit in the room noisy too (luckily the temperature was ok with it turned off).
Good location for an overnight stop but the breakfast under current circumstances is a joke, 830am on a Monday morning and nothing available unless you wanted a tiny pot of cereal - with no milk though as nothing available. No juice, no milk, no hot bacon or sausage rolls even. When asked got muttered at by staff who swore under their breath. If you cannot provide a breakfast, then reduce the room rate and not offer it. All had to be takeaway back to your room - no mention of this at all at checkin, website said only when busy- at one point there were 7 in 2 different parties, not exactly busy! Nothing was offered for a vegetarian option either and can’t even have bread for toast! Staff eventually brought done out along with soggy wet croissants as they had clearly been out in bags when still hit to sit around afterwards/ not pleasant at all. Usually stay at HI express but will not do until they can offer a send serve breakfast again - I had 2 options if hotels, chose this due to the breakfast, don’t be doing again. Complained to reception who apologised but didn’t exactly make up for awful offering of a ‘breakfast’ .

I can’t fault it. Clean, comfortable, the rules are followed well. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Hotel is situated in a quiet area.
Nice hotel with all the basics that would want .Great location and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small for a family of four to share and the breakfast was basic but decent enough - you can't beat it for the price.
All was as expected in current climate. Difficult to get drinks as staff were very busy and only seemed to be 2 covering reception and bar.
Hands down the worst breakfast I've ever seen. How they can serve that rubbish without the EHO shutting them down is beyond me. Steps for social distancing ha what a joke.
Hotel was fine, but having stayed in many hotels over the last few weeks, some are managing to serve a good full breakfast whilst observing Covid-19 restrictions, Holiday in are serving hot rolls. Other than the breakfast the hotel was fine. Beds quite hard though.
