Housekeeping needs improvement
I have stayed in this hotel before in 2019. Service was good then. During our recent stay, we booked 2 rooms. The housekeeping staff were very slow and took more than an hour to respond and after 3 calls. My sheets also had a stain (appeared like a squashed mosquito). Otherwise, I would have given a better rating.

The toilets and bathrooms had a horrible smell from drainage. They really need to take care of this for this to be a 4 star hotel. The rooms need remodeling. Switches were broken.

Wonderful stay.
My experience at Grand Chennai was excellent. On arrival, we were promptly attended to and service staff ushered us to the room explaining the facilities within the room. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Just one minor comment at the cereal counter, the bowls and milk should have been replenished without requesting. I have to request for it on various days. However, staff attended to my request promptly. Special mention to one of the staff Ushmitha, very helpful and promptly attended to our request. Aside from the positive comments, I believe some improvements can be made in restaurant staff's communication skills. Guest should never be turned away when approached for meals, even when nearing closing time. Instead, we witnessed a hand gesture (indicating the restaurant is closed) made by one staff to another who were negotiating for alternate arrangement. Noticing this we left the restaurant as the staff were not prepared to attend to us. Certainly, some training can be provided to this respect. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and would choose Grand Chennai in my next visit. Thank you.
